Root Official CM11 Nightlies

On latest nightly did a full factory reset wiped cache and wipe dalvik cache everything runs smooth just that when charging overnight the phone turns off and I can't boot up till I pull battery any suggestions?
Probably phone went to deep sleep. Happens to my phone similar bug. I pressed power button then I see LED is on but screen still blank. Pressed again and it tured on. Look like a protection from accidentally pressed power button when putting a phone in the pocket. It prevent from touching Emergency Call on screen in pocket. This a feature I think.

This was happening to me before I updated to the CM 11 nightly. However, it hasn't happened since I updated.

Boot times are similar between D2A build and CM11 nightlies unless you enable ART which takes a lot longer on CM11

Boot time are the same..latest Nightly 20140106 has the stock Gallery app (pics) working properly , without frezes or reboots. It does lightly heat up ( battery) and uses the battery juice faster than other..LG logo pops more often than in D2all101 Rom 11 Beta. Messages app is integrated with Hangouts app fully that Stock Google message app is not included in Rom .Overall seems stable ...

PS: I'm not sure, but the hangouts vs stock messaging app note may be due to the gapps zip you use. I don't think CM is allowed to include Hangouts (due to Google licensing). If you use the PA "stock" zip, it explicitly removes some of the AOSP stock apps (browser, messaging, etc) when it installs the Google alternatives (Chrome, Hangouts, etc). If anyone wants to keep stocking Messaging, use one of the other gapps packages.

1/9/14 works great for me. Newest version of CM11 of D2A's version works great also. Camera has been fixed to work fine with native apps. Still glitchy with 3rd party apps (except for bar code scanner, QR scanner, etc.). You must "disable HW overlay" and have to do it every reboot for these particular 3rd party apps to work.

Development isn't dead, it's just stalled. Fixing the HWoverlay issues and the asec issue are proving tough. I've done about 15 builds that haven't been posted and none of them have fixed the issue. I will post a new build once I see something productive.

Latest nightly is good for most of the tasks I use, phone, maps, browsing, camera.

BT is dead for me, that would be my number one wish to have.

Have you tried the builds by D2A? I have yet to see complaints on BT from his builds. Also, what are you connecting to, that BT doesn't work?

I tried D2A's build as well, no go there. (Full wipe installs) No devices recognized error.

It's my new Hyundai that I want to work with, but I've tried a few other devices like the Ooma and it fails there as well.

It sounds like this is an issue that Hyundai would like to keep under wraps.

On the second page, a gent describes what he did to get the dealer "fix" the problem. If other devices are failing, then I don't believe it's your ROM and it's your head unit. If other devices work, can you tell me which ones, so I can dig deeper into the issue.

I have been running both ROMS both have been pairing with my Kia and other bluetooth devices.

OK, I'll do some more digging into it and see what I can come up with. I'm doing cleanup of old code atm, so possibly we'll see some improvements in BT by not having extra stuff running in the backround, that shouldn't be there.

Recently my phone won't turn on after several attempts pressing power button. I remembered that HW overlay disabled and this problem presist like once a day when chat apps are in background and LG LED Notification enabled vibration.

I had some time while dropping off one of the kids last night. I went through the head unit on the car, checked the various settings and any saved connections. Wife's phone was there, and nothing else.

Checking the phone tried various things, power cycle. Make the phone visible, search for devices. Lastly, I noticed I had changed the BT name of the phone, so I set it back the stock name. (VS920 4G) Bang, connected. Walked away, disconnected and then reconnected after walking back.

So possibly something there.

FYI, the VS920 nightlies will most likely be broken for a while. Someone did a massive update to the MSM/OMX stuff, and now the builds are broken. They also split out CM11 and stable/CM11 . I'm hoping the stable/CM11 branch does not have these issues, so I can get back to fixing stuff.

TDM:
If you see this, can you let RMCC know that iproj builds are broken as of 01/13/14

For the last three nightlies I keep getting a force close in the camera app when I tap the shutter and picture does not save. I try using alternatives but there's no preview. Any help or suggestions? It seems to be only photo capturing because panorma and video is working just fine.

Turn off HWoverlays under developer options to get the other camera apps to work (must be set at each reboot). As for the main camera app, try wiping the data from the program. If it's still an issue, I would grab the unofficial build from the end of D2A's thread. We have a few extra tweaks that the official does not, yet, and I use it as my daily driver.

For the stock camera app I closed it out of the recent apps, forced stopped it, disabled it, rebooted, re-enabled the camera, and that seemed to work. As for the alternatives thanks for the tip =D

Hi everyone I saw this post and everyone talking about CM 11 for the VS920. I have the same phone and thought I would add to the discussion. :) I'm currently running CM 10.1.3 android 4.2 stable right now. That build was released on Sep. 23 last year and so its been 4 years since then and I've heard all this talk about CM11 and I've been steadly watching the CM downlaod page and thought I would give a shot at the nightlies. Has anyone tried the most recent nightly since 1-20-2013? Just want to know if its relatively stable. Ive heard of camera issues but I know that can be fixed by disabling HW overlay.

Here's my review for CM11:

The battery life: decent it's not the best but it will last you through a day of work or school

Bluetooth: Works fine for me on my 2012 Toyota Camry stock radio

Cellular Service and data: Works on first boot

Camera: Stock camera app does not work at all or me since the last 5 nighties no matter what I do. Again alternatives require to disable HW overlays (Must be done on every reboot) [Anyone one have a good fast reliable alternative camera app?]

Misc: YouTube does not seem to work or at least on the the newest version but the web version of YouTube works just fine as for Netflix I don't use it due to school homework and sports | Couple random reboots here and there but nothing to unbearable | Lg Screen pops up when opening apps I've seen this referred to as buffering. Other than that the latest nightly removed the GEL (Google Experience Launcher) from the ROM I have no idea but it does work if you side load it | Other than that its a pretty good ROM | Check it out if :) The CyanogenMod vs920 is very good at updating nightlies so give it a go (:

P.S. I would love to see the CyanogenMod Easter egg that is found when repeatedly tapping the CyanogenMod version # (if a dev sees this please add it in? Please ?:D. )
