0.00B of internal memory. Insufficient memory space?

MsElise85

Lurker
For some reason, it seems as if my phone can no longer hold memory in the internal memory drive. Ive moved all of my photos to the sd memory card, removed all music and literally have about 6 much needed apps stored on my phone...no games or un useful apps etc, and still no internal space. When I go to free up space, I literally will have about 30mg of space, then it would disappear without downloading anything. My phone currently is not rooted, but Ive read on similar post that a lot of users have indeed rooted their phones and still have the same problems.

What ive done thus far...
Deleted practically everything from my phone....still no space
Moved apps to the sd memory card....still no space
Cleared the catch, history, data....no space
Deleted text messages.......

Might there be something running or storing that may be hidden? How can I find it?

This is getting irritating! Phones running slowing and occasionally force closes due to being backed up.

HELP!!!

I have the LG Optimus Elite

Thank You :-)

Rooting TAKES space, it doesn't give you more space.

Moved apps to the sd memory card....still no space
Internal, simulated SD card or external SD card. These days, for some reason only understandable by those who can't understand anything, they set aside a space in the internal memory of the phone and call it "simulated SD card" and make that the primary SD card. Moving things from internal storage to internal simulated SD card storage doesn't do anything as far as space is concerned.

Might there be something running
That would be in RAM, not in storage.

ES File Explorer and turn on "show hidden files".

The one thing you could try is Low on Space? Dump logcat

But don't expect a phone with 1GB of storage to be able to store a lot of today's apps. The larger phones get, the sloppier the developers get, and the larger the apps get. (And that's not a slur at developers "I are wun", as the saying goes, and have been developing software for 40 years - back when the only tools a developer needed were a shoehorn and a bigger hammer.)

Do not confuse a mounted external SD card (a micro SD card inserted in the slot above the battery) with the phone's internal memory storage. On an un-rooted Optimus Elite, only music and photos can be stored on the EXTERNAL SD card, not apps. Storing music and photos on the external SD card will free up some of the phone's internal memory space. Verify in your settings that the camera is set to store photos on the external SD card automatically.

You may be able to free up some space by de-fragmenting the phone's memory and SD card, like you would with your computer. This can be done by connecting the phone to your PC and de-fragmenting the phone's memory as you would the computer hard drive, or an external hard drive.

Post if you need instructions on how to de-fragment the phone's memory. I hope this helps.

Same thing with my T-Mobile Prism that my dad forced me to get. He made such a terrible mistake. Can't receive texts from him with this 0.00b problem. Every 2 days the phone will have the 0.00b error and I am forced to delete a game or an app. In order to fix it, I have to delete an app over 5mb. After that, it shows that I have 30+mb. 2 days later guess what? 0.00b AGAIN! Slowly, my apps are being wiped away because of this error.

If your looking to buy a smartphone, please don't buy the cheap ones, they are just not worth your money and time. Oh yea, and I forgot to mention, the Prism is slower that a mid-spec 1994 COMPUTER!
