HTC DROID Eris OS 2.1v3 download

Just to make sure I'm clear on the tutorial. Its ok for me to turn the phone on (after wipe), then mount sd card, copy zip file to card, unmount card, power phone down, then start up by holding down volume down and power/end call?

Yep

Look at the fix list! This is why Verizon tests and why the dates sometimes drag out. They should be commended for being thorough instead of the childish ranting that goes on because it did not meet some individuals timeframe.

fwiw i loaded this up today, the exact package, within 10 minutes i updated.

logged into phone with google account.

went to market, menu, my downloads, ALL my apps where therer waiting to be downloaded and install.

reinstalled most of them, no glitches yet.

had my phone back to pretty much pre flash condition in maybe an hour....start to finish.

Thanks for the link!
If we already have 2.1 will home screen backups and other settings be able to restore without errors?

oh yeah, can't wait...figures 1 day after I set my phone up again but oh well that fix list will make it worth it.

Yikes, that's quite a list of improvements.

Feedback from those of you installing this should be interesting.

Sweet - another leak.

Thank you Caddy for the submission. I'm looking forward to trying this one. I'm downloading this now through my Eris. I'm @ 10% now as we speak.

I probably won't be able to do this until later today, but I'll let you know how it goes.

nothing is saved, just like getting a new phone when you flash this. SO MAKE SURE you backup your contacts, media, apps, yadda, yadda.

And no your scenes, screens, will not be saved.

Just a question, maybe request:
Anyway we can get another 2.1 Leak Bugs and Fixes, specifically for this particular leak?

That's a good idea, but I have the feeling that there will likely be far fewer issues in a leak coming out at this stage of the game.

To play devils advocate, their might be a rollback method that only works with the previous leaks, so mull that over before you take the plunge.

I'm thinking the same. I know the other one is like 1,500 posts, so I figured a new one with this leak wouldn't get flooded out.

*****If I don't get struck by lightning, or sucked in a black hole by 5pm, I'm taking the plunge this time.....unless I chicken out at the last minute*****

Just when I was bummed that I had no plans for this weekend, you go and turn my life around.

Thanks!

so i leave the sd card unmounted safe for removal after i load the file onto it before i reboot? pardon my stupidity, but i though it has to be mounted for the phone to access the card.

While thats may be true, you could go back to v1 if you installed v2 of the leak, I'll take my chances that this works out, if not oh well if its less buggy I'm fine with it. If I have time I'd be more than happy to attempt a rollback..

Caddy...thanks! I kinda enjoy this part of the phone! In the middle of installing to my Eris now...going just as needed!
