two different heros?

can someone fill me in on why there are two different shaped "htc heros?" I just checked out the sprint hero and it has this rounded bottom to it... as opposed to all of the reviews I read and watched of the hero having a square bottom with a chin to it. What gives? I thought the USA was getting the same hero as tmobile UK "g2" (which is supposedly the hero).

Same UI, just different look

The same goes to MicroMachine "Smart" (car), the one for USA it has a automatic stickshift and European has a sequential one, but at heart its still the same.

Back to the topic, as long they have same features, it shouldnt matter :D

All of the USA versions are chinless and CDMA under the hood.

The OS and UI are identical except for preloaded applications.

eh the shape really matters to me. I liked the masculine lines of the UK Hero. Its a totally different phone (shape ). Its like saying a ford mustang is the "same" as a ford focus.

any idea when the US will see the g2 or original shape? GSM would be nice...

I think the US hero looks a bit crap myself, not much design flare like the European Hero. Glad I don't live that side of the pond (for this and various other reasons!)

I thought the eurpoean hero wouldnt get 3G in the US and vice versa (limited to GPRS/EDGE) - different chips for different 3G frequencies.

Quite an important factor.

Your thought is correct--the EU version of the Hero does not get 3G in the USA.

Oh yeah.

I just had a look and the Sprint Hero does look rubbish. Lost all of the character of the UK version.

Sorry.
