Root Kitkat is coming [discontinued]

no longer suspended, kitkat alpha release this week (carbon rom) I'm trying to work on a smoother custom kernel also.

figured out what was causing my bootloop and from here it should be much easier :D

huge thanks to ss2man for a better ramdisk also, mine was bad and was causing a charging issue

I will post my device tree on release
 
Thanks for seeing it through jssa28. Looking forward to its debut. Also Boost Mobile if you need a tester you can count me in. I am on my phone 25 hrs. a day, 8 days a week. So I can can stress test to the fullest.
 
How difficult would it be to port over a version of ubuntu touch for this phone?

Also I have boost mobile and would be happy to test anything you needed as well. =)
 
Dude there is no way to know about that until you flash it! All phones react differently to flashing. With FreedomPop, that system is in beta status. Who knows what problems any rom will create for that sytem. Just be sure to back up your current system before you flash a new anything to your phone!
 
Woah Sir, what have we got here!!! Will it work with cdma-wimax-gsm? ANy issues we should expect right off the bat?...what the heck, am jumping in it as soon as I get home tonight...lol Ready the bodybags please! :shot:
 
Booted and connected to Sprint network on my FreedomPop phone. For some reason touch screen doesn't respond, so I couldn't test beyond that. Had same problem with ss2man's build. If this has same kernel that might explain it. Screen works fine on bluekingdom...
 
So you flashed the new ROM on the Freedompop phone and got connected to Sprint? I haven't flashed it yet, just got home. What else did you noticed? Or anyone else who had a chance to flash it!

Amazing ROM :) Everything works fine so far. The only thing I noticed was that the headphones don't work and and the camera app isn't installed and when I install a third party camera app it crashes. Both of them aren't much of a big deal so thanks for continuing support for the kingdom :)!

The lock screen said "searching for service" at the bottom, then after a minute said "sprint", then "enhanced service". I didn't get to find out what that means, because my touch screen won't work with the ROM. I couldn't get past the lock screen.
 
seems like freedompop uses a different touchscreen than the original variants?

is anyone not on that device getting no touchscreen?

im "enhanced service" too... but touchscreen ok

I wonder if my phone was refurbished and got a replacement screen or something. I seemed to be the only one with this issue when ss2man was working on this. Is there a way to find that out?

Are the drivers any different (or implemented differently) than blue kingdom? I don't know exactly how these things work, but it surprises me that one would work and the other wouldn't.
