What phone should I get?

I currently have the motion and I want to upgrade. i was looking at all the $29.99 phones along with the optimus f3, and optimus f6. I wouldn't be extremely opposed to buying a different phone they don't carry but I really don't want to spend too much right now. If somebody could rank the phones for me in order from best to worst that would be great and any tips/recommendations are greatly appreciated.

edit with more info: I want a bigger screen 4.5 inches is more preferable but I could settle with 4 if I need to. Right now I have the motion. I live in suburban NY. Also, when it comes to money, $150 is max but I would much prefer to stay way under that.

You need to offer up some info first to make it easier for people to help you.

What kind of phone do you have now? What area do you live in? How much do you want to spend? Is there a place near you where you can try out phones?

[EDIT] Also is rooting and tethering important to you.

Give everybody something to work with here.

I have the F6 and it's not bad, it has an 4.5 inch display and we recently got an overclock kernel, Also we have devs working on roms and cyangonmod + kit kat is rumored to be "coming soon" likely around June... only down side is the storage, but devs are currently working on a storage mod

hopefully you have decent t-mobile GSM signal at your location. we recently had a user posting from upstate NY complaining about zero t-mobile coverage. she had ok CDMA service and switched to a GSM phone and lost service.

ask yourself what you want to be able to do with your phone and find out what phone will do that at the cheapest price.

Ok, I went back and reread both the OP and the edit.

TU, FIRST you need to ascertain For Sure that the new GSM is usable where you are. Assuming it is, go get you a LG F6. That's your best bang for the buck right now.

With you being happy (basically) with your Motion that tells me that rooting and tethering probably aren't priorities for you. The F6 also has Lte and there is developer work going on with it.

If you didn't have to have a larger screen you could go with the F3, it's basically the same as your Motion.

If you get the F6 you'll have probably Metro's branded better choice for midrange phones, $10 more for your Sim card, activate on-line to save that in store $15 and you'll end up with $60 left out of your $150 to pay your first month unlimited service with.

BingBamBoom Done. :smokingsomb:

How about a cheap unlocked and you try both T-Mobile and at&t and any other gsm company out . get known to what gsm is and go for what ever new phone u want through what ever company . all I see is win win win .

Sure. But that actually requires someone to be interested enough to research and noodle out the then Myriad of possibilities with BYOD.

Some people just aren't That into That.

They want the answer(s) just handed to them easy peasy. The Metro branded phones in GSM are the easiest peasiest answers.

Not only that some folks can't handle getting a phone unlocked if it. Some people don't trust eBay some people don't trust Craig's list (I don't)

Tru but who said eBay . I was talking about amazon has android sellers and give good clean devices with papers

Pray that there's a T-Mo or Metro store within a mile or so of your house.

Go on Craig's List and offer to meet someone with a new phone for a free coffee at the Dunkin' near your house. Bring their phone.

So far as I'm aware, the Sensory dealies work IF someone, Enough someones actually report what service they're getting.

There's no miracle answer. There wasn't for Me anyway.

yea I can go to a metro store, if I just asked how is the GSM around here would they tell me the truth or would they lie to get me to buy a new phone?

They should have a GSM demo phone or 2.

Play with one. Go to Speedtest.com and run a couple tests. The demo phone likely won't have the ST app loaded.

Again, the closer to your house the store is, the better. Even a mile can make a BIG difference.

Lol he said its full of apple hipsters and overpriced bitter water to serve said people who buy overpriced apple ....wait a second seeing a trend there

Lol. Actually, I see a lot of Dell products too. I work there part time feeding America's addiction to caffeine. Back in '71 when they picked the siren as a mascot, they chose well. The sailors had to heed the call of the siren when they were singing. We have to go to Starbucks when ever we see the sign.

Ok. Enough banter. Back to the subject.
