Root [ROM][WIP]Party Time JB 3.3

I my goodness gracious, I've never heard of Republic before, but I think I orgasmed a bit reading about them! XD

Anyone know if their Moto X can be rooted yet?

Yes it can...exactly the same way you root any moto x...check it out on xda and read that link i put in a post above yours!
 
I can't wait till they add more phones, the motox is awesome, but SD compatibility is pretty much a deal breaker for me, I have a ton of music, and streaming doesn't do it for me.
 
Meanwhile....back to PTJB 3.3, I've got it installed, along with SetCPU and after some tuning of the CPU stuff, it's running very smoothly. I ran into a few hickups right after the install with processes stopping and Link2SD not mounting but after a couple reboots that stuff cleared up. I installed on top of 3.2 after clearing cache and Dalvik cache which I maybe shouldn't have done. Anyway, it's working great now.

So big thanks to SB. Another outstanding job!

I have a question about AOSP lockscreen. I installed it through Xposed and like the look of it, but does it also give me the ability to install lockscreen widgets? I can't figure out how to do that.

So with the mod, it simply changes our framework, so any touchwiz can be modded to have the aosp lockscreen...because our phone is only 4.1.2 we cannot have widgets on lockscreen. it wasn't until after that they created that. However, you can download an app from the playstore that allows that

some features, yes, but not much...they have the same overall look and feel...but the chipset is different, so it's not like the reverb & rush in that way. Also, they will be adding more phones, but i doubt any new phone they add will have ext sd compatibility. However, they are USB OTG compatible which actually allows for much more external storage than an sd could...i'm thinking of building a custom case for my moto x when it arrives so it will have the ability to charge, while having an external hard drive attached at the same time...You can get OTG cables with sd card readers as well if you want to keep the bulkiness down...just some food for thought

Yeah, the price is so good that if they don't add a phone with SD I'll probably just bite the bullet and adapt.

That's what I did...but my reason for thinking there will be no ext sd compatibility is that they are contracted to use Motorola...and Motorola is doing away with ext sd
 
Also, i'm working on a pretty sweet rom right now...just can't get it to run right...it boots, but that's about all it does

First, I apologize if this is a repost, my forum app is acting screwy, but which device is this new rom for? And to clarify maybe we should start a new thread for future conversation regarding Republic Wireless.

I kinda agree...but at the same time...republic wireless isn't even anywhere on AF so i don't know where we would start one...and for the reverb of course...
 
Wow...this is sad...I'm actually getting emotional realizing that I won't be using this phone on a daily basis...I'm flashing back to the day I bought it and not knowing how to use touchwiz because my optimus elite was stock gb...it's sad that I have created an emotional connection with a piece of hardware...lol...but still, it's gonna be quite bittersweet when I unbox my moto x tomorrow...I'll make a reverb vs moto x comparison video if I can find my camera haha! Or if not I could use the other phone for each separately and then edit to look decent haha
 
totally just bricked my moto...pretty shitty feeling =( think i'm gonna return it to stock and just have it rooted... until we can unlock the bootloader

sweet man! it's great service, had it for 1.5 weeks now and the service and phone are phenomenal! Also, if money is an issue, the Moto G will be available in April for $149...this being said, the Moto X is a better phone and in my eyes it is worth the extra $150...goodness...i sound like a salesman
