Alright guys i have had my phone now since aug 2013. :) i love it its a mint phone .. only problem is in the last few months its had really really bad signal problems.. im with uk carrier vodafone and have been for some time and never had this issue in the past? I did not habe this problem when i first got the phone. Cheers guys :)

Since you're in the UK, did you have someone ship you an S4 GPE since they're only available in the US? If this is not for the GPE version, I can move this into the normal S4 forum for you.

3 things spring to mind with Vodafone UK...

1. They have, over the last few months, been carrying out a nationwide 4G/LTE upgrade roll-out to their tower network. I know from my own experience, that this has caused some problems.

2. Which firmware are you on? See #1.3 of 23 Galaxy S4 models - know yours? to obtain your exact firmware details.

3. Text WEB to 40127 to be sent the latest Vodafone APN settings, automatically, for your phone.

And when i rang vodafone they said its not the network ots the phone saying somethink about a design fault and the areil is blocked or some shit and i no this is not true because it worked fine before lol :S

That is the latest release for CSC code VFG, Product code VOD. There have been no reported problems with either the firmware or modem. An update to Android 4.4.2, KitKat is expected in the very near future with an updated modem. You could check at down detector .co.uk for any Vodafone problems in your area.

Aw thats un fortunate :( i wonder what it is i ha e spoke to voda and they said that there is nothing wrong with the service :S aw well lets hope the update works well :)cheer ironass for the help :)

Longshot...

Go to Settings > Connections > More > Mobile networks > Network operators (I am doing that from memory but that is roughly the pathway)

Once you have opened Network Operators your phone will seek all carriers available in your area. When it has finished, select a carrier other than Vodafone. You will be told to naff off. Again, select another carrier, not Vodafone, and you will get the same reaction. Now select Vodafone as your carrier and reboot your phone. See if that helps. What it does is to temporarily disconnect you from the Vodafone network and then re-register you, hopefully, on the strongest signal.

Also, if you are not on a 4G Vodafone plan, select 3G as your preferred network.
