1. Sounds like you put yourself in recovery mode. Probably were holding the down volume while pushing the power button, which I believe is how you get there. You don't want that for anything you are doing.
Thanks
1b: you can move app shortcuts by holding them down and dragging them.
There are two places you talk about here. One is the app drawer, which is accessed by tapping the icon with the six dots. This is where all the icons or all the apps installed on your device show up. If you hold one down and drag, it should appear hovering over your home screen. The home screen is your desktop, and if it fills up with icons, you can create additional desk tops by dragging an icon to the right (or it will do it automatically if you try to place to many icons on the first one).
You can delete icons by doing a hold and release (a menu should pop up) or by dragging the icon (if I remember right-- I'm now using a different launcher) to an X that will appear at the top when you drag the icon.

2. I'm not sure enough about what you are referring to, sorry.
3. There are probably apps that will make it more one-step. Try searching the Play Store for "power off button app"
Hope this helps.
I held down the app and a REMOVE function showed up in the google line above it. But when I release the app the remove function disappears and if I try to hold the app with one hand and tap the remove function with the other hand nothing happens .
Any suggestions ?
