Is anyone concerned the battery is not removable?

For Boost Mobile users, I mean this is a concern, is it not? I have always purchased a spare battery for all my phones, except iPhone. I cannot say I have ever had cause to use it, cuz I rotate to a new phone before the battery dies I guess. That's just me, how about those that keep a phone till she is dead. Why do you think the Boost version of the Moto G phone is made like this vs. the version made for other carriers (if I am correct).

That's why I sold my Nokia n8. It was working fine. But lack of spare battery was not an option. After that all phones were with removal battery. Got a spare never get a scare.:beer:
 
All versions of the Moto G have a sealed battery, it's just that you can take the back cover off. Never kept a phone until it was "dead" but my OG Droid from 2009 still charges just fine with the original battery.

Thanks for that point, the fact is, I have had a lot of phones in my time from Samsung S3 to iPhone 4, but this one knocks em' out of the park, for my needs. That may just be me but I am finally at ease about the phone I own.

I don't own it yet. Everything I've read about it though indicates amazing battery life, and fantastic performance.

Also the phone costs 130 bucks. If the battery dies in the first year, warranty. If after the first year, again $130 bucks
 
This is not a problem for me because I don't use the full battery in a day. If I were to, Motorola does sell a extra charger that can charge the moto g, and tablets as well.
 
Before I got the RAZR...I would get into debates with iPhone users and mention a non removable battery as a con. I had a Droid 1 and Droid X before the RAZR.

After the RAZR....I see why its a non issue with iPhone users.

On a similar note...my orig battery for my Droid 1 is still going strong. And my Droid X. I got a huge extended battery for my Droid 1...and its trash now....too unstable after a few years. That should give you an idea about batteries.

I realize some do conk out...but for the most part the orig ones last years.
 
The battery is actually very easy too remove as its just a case of removing the small screws holding the back on and disconnecting a connector,then the battery just pops out.

none of that is much use of coarse unless somebody makes a replacement battery for the Moto G including that connector.

I'm also thinking of purchasing a Moto G (dual-SIM) for myself... :thumbup:

I don't see that much of a concern for non-removable batteries (for all mobile devices in general). Why? I usually carry around my "gadget bag" where I have my charger(s) for all my gadgets. Also, I have a power bank - they are getting cheaper these days.

I guess we'll all find out in time how long the battery lasts. I have the Verizon Moto with only 8 GB and I only just have 4.5 GB left and this is my second day!! I have only downloaded 5 apps too! When I took it out of the new box it didn't have but 6 GB showing and how they can state 8 GB is beyond me.

So what do I do when I run out off space....toss it?:confused:

It doesn't show the full 8 Gig because some of that is taken up by the operating system.

You should have 25 Gig of Google drive space free for a year (think it's a year, maybe it's 2, I can't remember now). Also, utilize other cloud storage. There is also USB otg (on the go) capability. That's where you can plug in a USB stick with a micro-sd card in it. I don't have any links off hand, but if you search on USB otg for Moto G you should find something.
 
Thanks about the usb, didn't know they made them for a phone. Yeah I know about the cloud but don't really want put personal info in the cosmics! lol
 
I just bought two of these moto g's. people will hate on them because they have to be proud of all the cash they shelled out. after verizon and iphones and samsungs im sick of paying $200/mo. honestly phone and cable are huge expenses these days. im on the path to financial freedom so when i retire i do what i want, not what someone tells me to for a paycheck.

these phones with the right prepaid mnvo are great and a new age in the cell industry.

its freedom. my wife has a i phone 4s locked to sprint. i have a nexus locked to verizon. so after shelling out all this cash to pay for these devices they are useless if i want the freedom to move to another carrier. never again. only unlocked devices from now on.
 
Not bothered by non removable battery because its freaking awesome. I came from a galaxy nexus though. The storage isn't a problem now really. Netflix for ......films, Play music for.....music, you can upload 20k tracks and stream them for free. Stick on camera upload on dropbox and Google, don't know why I do both, but I do. It does help having an unlimited data plan as well, but you prob only on a sim only deal if you have this phone and there are some decent deals out there.
