Help Rogue App is invisible

Simon_Gardner

Android Expert
I have a rogue app. In this case it's EverNote. I can't find the icon. I can't thus move it to the desktop. I can't delete it or reinstall it from the PlayStore. I can open it from the Playstore. I can update it or delete the updates.

Doh. It appears to be a widget.

That won't go onto the desktop either.

What are you wanting to do Simon? Stick the Evernote widget on a home screen? Not using it myself, but, and I know it is obvious, have you enough room for it on the home screen you want it on?

No. That doesn't work either. :(

Yes.

What I want to do is to put the app on a home screen. But the app isn't there although it in fact clearly is. But it can't be found. Though PlayStore thinks it is and it boots if I "Open this app". It also can't be deinstalled from PlayStore either.

Have you inadvertently hidden it? App drawer>Settings(bottom left soft key) >show hidden apps?

However. Your suggestion gave me an idea. I'd somehow put it inside the Galaxy Plus folder. Which apparently also made it undeletable.

Now removed from there and it becomes deletable from the Store etc.

Glad you got it sorted. I wonder if self made folders for apps in the app drawer exhibit the same "protection" from uninstall via the Play Store?

That is interesting. I launched it once and it presented me with a screen demanding that I sign my life away in order to use it. No thanks. So I wanted to uninstall Evernote, but like you, all I can do is remove the updates. I assumed it was because it was T-Mobile or Samsung bloatware that they thought I couldn't live without.

I looked for a Galaxy Plus folder, but can't find it.

Everniote is in the app drawer on my t--mobile US Note 3. I also show a shortcut to evernote under widgets. Evernote is unistallable from the Play Store for me as well.

Evernote did come with the Note 3 and appears to be uninstallable from the Play Store which has me just as confused as you John Jason. I'm not going to uninstall it though, I kind of like it's list feature for shopping and things to do; those little check boxes are cool.
