Help How do i update my S2? Can anyone help?

I bought an S2 ( my previous was stolen.
My last one, was updated to the first version of Jellybean and i was actually pretty happy at that.

This one is currently on Gingerbeard 2.3.5 and it seems i have no escape from it. Ive tried OTA but "no updates found".
If it helps im on GiffGaff.

Im at my wits end, can someone advise me please.

See #1.5 and #1.6 of the Jelly Bean update - Dummies Guide for reasons that you may not be able to update to Jelly Bean. #1.7 of the guide explains how to update to Jelly Bean yourself by downloading the firmware and flashing it using Odin.
 
Ironass, is it possible to maybe put another sim card in and change the carrier. Ie from GiffGaff to Tmobile and see if they would do an update at all?

I honestly have no clue what im doing LOL.



Can i PM you actually for advice on this?

No. The sim card plays no part whatsoever in the update of the phone. See #1.1 of the Jelly Bean update - Dummies Guide that I referred you to, which is cunningly entitled... What determines if I can update to JB?
