Can i install kitkat 4.4 on any android phone? My current android version is 4.2.1 jellybean and my processor and ram are also pretty good 1ghz quadcore, and 1 gb ram.

I've rooted my phone using framaroot app. So if i install a custom ROM, I can safely get 4.4 kitkat installed? Its not risky yeah? And what is OTA update?

OTA = Over the air, as in your carrier would push the update for you.
As far as custom ROMs, I really don't know anything about your phone so you're best to visit the proper forum for yours and see if there are any for it.

Hey bread you have knowledge on CWM porting?

Well, phones are like computers nowadays as far as i can understand, they have the same hardware, [qualcomm, snapdragon processors] but different interfaces. And one can install any ROM on phones [as in any OS on any compter provided they have the same hardware that supports it].

So do i risk my phone getting permanently damaged if I install any ROM for kit-kat 4.4?

Also, I have custom patched some of my apps using lucky patcher. So can I do this.

Take the entire backup of my phone using titanium backup to SD card. install new ROM i.e. Kitkat 4.4.

Then restore all my apps, settings etc. Using titanium backup pro?

It's not like PCs actually, where you just have Windows and install whatever drivers a particular computer might need. A ROM has to be custom built for each particular device. If you try the wrong ROM, often won't work at all and you have a brick, or something will work but other things won't work, like the touch screen or WiFi, or you may get lucky and find another device with the exact same hardware.
There's a thread on XDA about ROMs for the Canvas 2.

...but nothing recent though.

This is a phone from India, it might have something in common with some of the Chinese phones.

With only 1GB ram, you're probably going to run into some lag, but you could always see if cwm has something for you

Googling would help. I'm from India, you may want to search for kit Kat rims for mtkxxxx which is what is in the canvas 2..you are likely to find a compatible device which has custom rims that MAY work on your phone
