I'm a newbies to Android phones and read all this talk about Kitkat update, my LG G2 is not locked to any network provider, how will I know when the update is available for my phone?
I used to have an iPhone and when there was an update it just appeared in the settings app.

If you don't have a carrier, you will get the update OTA (over the air) from LG. You should get a pop-up notification that an update is available at which point there will be an option to install.

Its my understanding the the rollout to the international variant began recently, at least that's the last I heard on the blogs. I am unaware of any issues with that rollout but if there were any, hopefully somebody can interject on that. If not, I would think the next few weeks would be a likely window, yes.
