guys,

that new htc one m8 is spankin gorgeous imo :)

had a good play with a friends and it is soo fast switchng apps etc

but im on o2 with months to go on my contract ..... had a look at refresh deal and it just seems tooo reasonable ... im worried that i might weaken and buy one now! :D

works out at 170 to pay off contract + 49 for phone + 38pm for contract
..so approx

It is rootable. If my M7 is anything to go by then the M8 is a no-brainer. Based on my experience with S3 compared to M7 my vote is a resounding YES! The M8 is slightly better still, I'm certain.

Mmm jealous.
I could never afford one of them beasts. Im hoping my s3 will live until the nexus 6 (or whatever) drops n then buy the nexus 5 when the price goes down. That phones a beast

I like the nexus 5 but wouldn't be able to use my 64GB microSD card.

I guess there's no point in hoping the nextus will be any different.

Thinking the Xperia Z2 is going to be my next phone. I can go for an early upgrade next month...and it'll take my 64gb card.
I'm afraid it's a show stopper for me if a phone doesn't have expandable memory.

M8 is in 1st place for me. And yes it has sdcard slot, which was a deal breaker for me. I got a few months on contract but I'm going to wait so any bugs are ironed out, and ROM dev gets a good head start.

Non-removable Li-Po 2600 mAh battery.:(

True, however, they come with a 2 year warranty and if the battery holds for that period of time then, usually, everyone wants the next new phone.

If your device is rooted and unlocked and the battery does go within the 2 year warranty period then you can argue for a replacement/repair under warranty successfully, I am sure, as rooting and unlocking have nothing to do with battery performance.

Guess you're possibly right, although I've heard that HTC is not as rigorous as Samsung. I suspect that they have to be a little more accommodating owing to their commercial position (Samsung spend more on advertising than HTC make turnover).

Thanks Davoid..all good so far..only bad point is the led notifications..only 2 colours and not much control ..only rooting can improve that i hear 😉

Yes, that's the ONLY thing I really miss, but other than that it is an almighty piece of kit. :D

Update..call sound quality seems a bit hit and miss..some calls the sound isn't so good....also a couple of calls i made didn't connect..Just stopped..odd :/ ..might just be new phone user error 😃

...felt should add some positives 😊
Really well made compared to s3.stereo speakers sound really good.screen very nice. The app switching is VERY fast, no lag at all 😊 ...and the standard swipe keyboard is the best I've used to date.

....I'm even engaging with blink feed! 😃

How long before you root it?

I lasted about 10 days before I rooted my S3 and it was bought on day of release. Wanted to make sure I could definitely return to stock and reset the counter for warranty purposes before I took the plunge.

Glad I did confirm this first because I did return it to stock for warranty when I discovered a dead pixel.

I don't know if I would root a samsung now with KNOX.

Mmm...good question..Shall hold off as long as i can😃 ..might find another way to sort led :/
Can only seem to get one colour out of it at moment

I had a hold of one yesterday, my god it's such a sexy piece if kit!

My missus was getting jealous I think :p
