Help HTC One M8 WiFi issue

gkhaikin

Lurker
So, got my M8, enjoying it, but have this wi-fi issue that is a real pain. I've already swapped out the device (and sim) and i'm still having it.

Basically i will be connected to my wi-fi network, but wont be able to access the internet. Chrome and other apps will say there is no internet connection, and if I turn off the wifi and turn it back on, it works, for a bit.

No way to tell if im not on the internet, so im not getting push or messages through g-chat on hangouts.

Anyone else having this problem? Any tips?

I wish it was, but no other devices on this network have any issues, or have had any issues.

That doesn't mean a thing. A single device can have a conflict with a router. Start by removing the access point from your phone, and then restarting your router. Once you have done that reconnect and get back to us ;)

mine works fine on both wifi nets i use .....but, i have had the very same issue with my sammy tab3 - works at home but at work where the router is a bag of cr*p, it shows as connected but wont actually get any data

Thanks, that seemed to do the trick. Funny that 2 calls to HTC and a few calls to Verizon and no one suggested that.

Its your router, next time unplug your router and let it reboot and dont touch the phone and it will connect soon as the router comes back up. I had a device that did this before too
