Can we download widgets like apps??

New to Android and was wondering if we can get widgets like we can get apps?

can you download them and if so where do you get them from???? If they are in the app store already, how do you tell the difference

You can't download widgets directly, however apps may include a widget version of their services. Take for example, the app "Where?". Its a normal app, however it comes with widgets that you can add onto your home screens.

There are some "apps" that are widgets only. Gmail unread count is one I can think of off top of my head.

Now that I think of it, youre right. I stand corrected. There are some apps that are not able to be opened as an app.

I've found that there's an app/widget for most anything I want to do on the phone. It's nice
