That I don't know. Does it actually reset your phone? I believe it just brings up the factory reset message, but then you hit power a couple of times to confirm and it would bring up CWM. It didn't actually reset unless you reset through CWM. Carefull though, I'm not 100% sure so if you have important data back it up first before trying it.

You could try the one in pressy4pie's thread once he gets his server going. Seemed to work fine for me but I only went in once and that was to factory reset so...

I havent tried it, i wanted a confirmation first, but ill try it soon, and yea ill back up. I was also wondering if there was a way to turn the led on, without screen lock on. I tried to put # in front of led in build system.prop all it did was cut the light to the soft keys, i wondered if its connected in with a lock screen setting file in system.

Go to this next link for a fully working recovery. It's the one I use and doesn't have the wipe data issue...

edit:
nevermind I see you said you want to use the button combo. It wont wipe your data as long as you use an app to boot into recovery.

;)

Ok, gotcha, so i need to backup to sd card, i have backed up only in internal but then it gets wiped but i should be able to do a restore from the sd backup right?

I know this is off topic, but ive been trying to figure out how to keep the home button led on after i unlock the screen, i think it could be hidden in a lock screen setting file in the system, but im no pro. Thanks again for helping me out.
