Help My usb debbuging is greyed out?

Davolt

Newbie
Hi all, i am trying to root my device(just got it today) and whenever i plug in my usb to the pc my usb debug turns grey, i tried all 4 options(charge,pc connect, etc..) any solutions to this?
It's been a long time since i had to root a phone because i had my awesome lg motion for 2 yrs :P, just crapped on me lol, so please help me :D.

Put a check in the box by USB debugging in settings- >development first, then plug in device to cable and set connection mode to lg software or charge only one of the two will show the debugging enabled in your notifications bar when you plug the cable in

is still greyed out :/

It turns grey I think when you plug cable in because you can't change it with cable plugged in. You don't see usb debugging enabled in notifications when the cable is plugged in And lg software is selected?

It says usb debbuging is connected, but when i try to use kingo root it still thinks is not connected

I used the lg mobile support tool to install the drivers for the phone, and for me on the 12b firmware I could not get root with kingo. I had to revert to 10i by flashing the kdz and root, then use OTA rootkeeper and backup my root, then temp unroot and OTA update, then restore root. Then used f6utils 2 to install cwm recovery.

Now I'm running GameTheorys custom ROM, Xperion, which is 12b, and I have the overclocked freedom kernel. Runs as smooth as butter on a hot griddle.

So there is no root for 12b? how can i root it then? or revert it back to 10i or whatever.

Use the link above and go to page one of the thread. There is a link to revert back to 10i with instructions and then steps to root and update to 12b and still keep root
