iPhones frozen by hackers . . .

I find this a bit humorous (although if it happened to me I think I'd be furious). One of the big selling points of Apple is their devices are not subject to malicious behavior due to their stringent security process.

This just goes to show that any device is susceptible to malicious attacks. There is no 100% safe device.

iPhones frozen by hackers demanding ransom - Telegraph

If this were to happen to me I would laugh as I factory reset my device... Recovered my password from a different email not at all linked to my gmail.. Then move on with my life..

True you could do that but doesn't that kind of take away the reason for creating the security to stop people from stealing your phone? If people who took your phone (and you had locked then out) were able on just factory reset it and sell it, the only thing the security would have done is prevent your personal information from being stolen, but you still lose your phone and criminals profit from it. But it does suck that those people lost their phones to hackers, that's why I do what the other guy said and use a different email for my find my iphone

They would have to know how to do it first, off the top of your head howl do you factory reset an xperia tl? That is locked and adb is off... They won't know how by the time my android manger tracked my device Down...

These iPhone aren't being physically stolen anyway and no security will protect or prevent it from being physically stolen.

This sucks for iOS users. But we all know that sometime that something like this will happen to android too. Same for Windows...
