Root [Virgin Mobile/Sprint] Change Carrier Name

This one is specifically for the LG Optimus F3.

I just wanted to share a little tweak that allows you to change your carrier name on your lockscreen, notification bar, Settings (Network).

*YOU MUST BE ROOTED.

First things first:
1. Download Root Browser (JRummy Apps Inc. version worked best for me).
2. Open the app, grant root and go to [/carrier/property].
3. Scroll down till you see a file named [ro.cdma.home.operator.alpha]
4. Open the file as a text file and use RB Text Editor to edit the file.
5. Upon opening the file, you should see written Virgin Mobile, Change that name to the desired text that will replace it (ex: Sprint)
6. Make sure to save the file.
7. Reboot the system and enjoy.

I miss that feature on my optimus elite. It was running slimkat rom
 
I Cant continue anymore on this phone. It broke :(

That's very unfortunate...at least you didn't slam yours at a wall or something because that's what I did with my elite and I didn't have insurance and the warranty was expired lol but then I got the F3
