Is there a Kitkat contacts app that does not have the column for the persons photo or an app that I can turn this column off
 
Welcome to AF, Simonlugi. Unfortunately there are no apps that I know of that have that as a removable feature. Perhaps someone else will jump in, but all the apps I know of have a small area for the contact pic and no option to remove that column
 
I find the photos distracting and also a huge waste of space. I have come over from the darkside (iPhone) and i got used to the clean look. The presentation of contacts details in iOs is clean efficient and intuitive. So far all the Android contact apps i have tried, are untidy with a lot of repetition, dead space (photos being the main culprit) and just dont seem to integrate so well with phone, SMS and email. Frustrating
 
Oh no way, iPhone stinks big time... Such a boring phone.. Android is the way to go.. You'll get used to it
 
There is definitely a lot to like about Android but there are also things that could be done a bit better. The Contacts app is my biggest frustration. The others are minor which I am sure with time wont bother me as much
 
Kolio thanks I will try the app you suggested and let you know how I go.

DL yes it is a repetition due to multiple sources and I have turned some of them off. The difference is with iOs contacts I wouldn’t get four lines of the same phone number for the same person all one after the other. iOs seemed to merge all the info from different sources into one, without having to turn off different Groups or Sources
