Root Xposed has made my m8 even better :)

hi guys,

not really used Xposed framework much before, as on s3 i didnt really need it due to many custom rom flashes ;)

....but on m8 i was finding a few annoying rather limiting things that were gradually pushing me towards flashing a rom

so far Xposed has sorted out for me:

.remove stock lock screen widget
.allow write access to external sd card - awesome! :)
.change lock screen widget picker to standard android one, rather than sense - means more widgets show up to pick - cool :)

thanks Xposed and module devs

cheers
dan

...only slight thing so far is that as im not s-off yet, it sometimes has to flash stuff via recovery - but good old TWRP sorts that nicely :)

The sd card fix was what made me flash a custom ROM and get me some xposed action :thumb:

What's the module you are using for the lockscreen? Wanna use dash clock again but can't seem to get rid of the sense lockscreen.

Sorry to be a pain Dan, what's the other module to get a standard Android widget picker? I take it that's the circle lock button that you usually get in AOSP?

Getting rid of these app widgets at the bottom is priority as I don't use them.

hi Yatezy.
no bother :-)
it's the module I mentioned in above post..the picker one.
but this is used for adding a widget to the stock lock screen...this is with pin guard active...not the one you are talking about I don't think sorry.
...I'm sure there is one for that though ;-)

Cheers mate, wanna get rid of these damn app widgets at the bottom.

I don't even use the stock browser or messaging app so at least want rid of them! Hmm the search goes on...

Check out gravitybox or sense6 toolbox. My favorites:) you can also disable the the HTC lock screen in a file manager by adding a letter at the end of the lock screen line and it'll give you the stock aosp KitKat lock screen

just trying it sense tool box.. bummer.. was hoping u would let me hide the system update notification :-D

Can you point me in the correct direction for this? :thumb:

Okay use a file explorer to navigate to system/priv-app and scroll till you see htclockscreen.apk and add .bak at the end. You should also see a htclockscreen.odex and add .bak at the end of that one. You might not have the second one if your on a custom Rom. And reboot after that and you'll have the aosp lock screen. Also gestures controls will not wake the device anymore:) also to go back to HTC lock screen just remove the .bak and reboot:)
