Root [Virgin Mobile/Sprint] Cm project is still alive

I just wanted to post some screenshots of what i'm working on. I'm still porting Cyanogenmod to this phone from the stock rom. I still have allot to go.

What hasn't been ported yet. Mainly the systemui, and the settings. There's a few lingering apps I haven't been able to port. For instance the default cm browser crashes when run. To solve that I've left the stock browser in place.

Everything so far does work with the exception of a few setting links. They error when you click on them because the options are no longer on the phone.

I was able to deodex the rom. It took me a while to figure it out. Each time I did it wouldn't boot. Turns out I made a silly mistake and didn't set the api correctly.

I'm trucking along and working as quickly as I can. :smokingsomb:

Excellent work. We really appreciate the extensive work that you're doing for this with the lack of other developers. Take all the time needed to smooth things out

Yeah, you guys have been very helpful. It may be a day or two before I get another one uploaded.

I want to play with it a little more. Now that it's deodexed i'm going to attempt to get the SystemUI and the Settings in place.

Good to hear that you got it deodexed successfully!

I'm totally going to flash this once there's a stable version ready, and someone puts up a guide :P Pumped for kitkat/cm11 one day though...

It'll basically be a modified stock ROM to look and feel like CM, but it won't have the background specs of CM. A lot of the settings in CM won't work on stock.

It's currently a modified stock rom that look and feels like CM. It currently contains the stock systemUI and stock settings. I have never said it was any different. It's not finished, that's why I haven't made it public yet. Although i've thought of doing so many times.

As of right now, i'm working on a cm boot image. I fubared my phone a little bit doing so.

Just curious, has anyone attempted a full cm build for this device as opposed to a port then using our bootloader instead of the cm bootloader?
*Edit* meant use stock kernel

if im remembering correctly, cm11 will run on a 4.1 bootloader without issue, but its configuring cm to work with our stock kernel that we will need to figure out. We had this same issue when we started cm for the G-slate

I'm giving up for a bit. I need a break. I've been at this every day since February and just need a breather. I want to play some games or something. Something else to focus on. :)

You can't say you didn't try. A wise person once told me to step back, take a break, and look at approaching the task from a different perspective. :)
