These are fully updated stock rooted ROMs with all apps intact, there are 2 versions odexed and deodexed (I'm not explaining the difference, Google is your friend :) )

Noob question but whats the different between odexed and deodexd?
 
I had a problem with the odexed version. It kept telling me every 2 minutes " memory card Inserted. Content will be saved to the memory card." I isolated it to just that version because the deodexed this never happened and the other ROMs like moonshine white and cm11 this never happened. It was only the odexed version. Strange.

Sounds like a bad flash or improperly formated sd card, if anyone else has this issue let me know
 
So...I didnt want to start an entire thread for this, but does anyone know how to add advanced power menu options to the stock deodexed rom? I've followed 2 tutorials (one was on xda, the other from google code for android 4.1.2) and I've got stuck both times in the smali edits because they both ask to make changes between lines of code that dont exist. Can anyone pm me a link to a tutorial that works with stock? Or, even better, post a tutorial for the Awe?

there isnt a guide for our device i had to make new code for my rom :D pia if i might add lol it was so long ago im not even sure what i added
 
Also i would like to welcome u to the wonderful world of zte code lol, its aosp based but with redundant, obsolete, and poorly constructed code all over the place

Yeah, no doubt, I've noticed so much unnecessary code its not even funny. Its a mess. No problem getting cwm or twrp into it, but try to make some modifications... and get ready to pull your hair out. It brings a whole new level of respect to me, to experience first hand, the hell people like you, phenomx4, and others go through to make so much possible for this phone.

Oh and as a tip dont touch gapps, they have some sort of security verification...they will work until u clear data so no good on fresh install... Reason y black version of awe inspired hasnt been updated
 
Can someone pull the stock phone,contacts and hidden men apks along with odex files for me and post them here? Thanks in advance.
 
Does anyone know if these got the binary updated to work with TWRP? And would anyone mind posting or sending me a pm with just the binary and script file for the stock deodexed? I kind of screwed mine up and I'd rather not download 300+MB over 3g.
 
I tried a KK rom but there were (imo) issues that I didn't want to deal with, also tried Lawe and still wasn't right for me. It's good to be back on stock (using the deodexed with update patch) thankyou edodson84 :) Was wondering if anyone knows where I could find a few themes (or theming elements) for this deodexed rom to try? These would be flashed through recovery correct? I'm having a hard time finding anything through searches cause I don't know what to call them.

If you want to stay on stock, but would like to customize and theme it, try Xposed Framework. I dont think its on the playstore (might have changed) but there are links all over xda, and there is also an official repository for it

Thanks for the replys, I'll check both ideas out. I remember when I had the V and using BACKside you could use theme chooser themes but also you could flash themes too, but I'm remembering now that the flashable themes had to be specifically made and updated for the exact rom and build I believe. Would that be the same case for a stock deodexed rom like this too or is it different?
 
Using Xposed. Already installed Volume Steps, which has nothing to do with theming but still cool/necessary. Wondering if there's any recommendations particularly for theming elements? It seems only some modules would be relevant to this phone/rom. Wondering about Android apps theme engine (ads/no ads). Could I make Hangouts dark themed? Ads can be disabled for real? Suggestions?

If u really want to theme u need to learn how to edit the apk files directly :)
 
Yeah I understand the concept about changing out the resources, and read a little about that and using the kitchen yesterday but I don't know that I have creativity needed to make a decent theme.
