xScope, a multitouch pinch zoom browser

4/23
I have good news for CyanogenMod users. The animated GIF images will not cause any crash in today's update.

BTW, CyanogenMod, what a wonderful work! Highly recommended here. Very stable at 1.1GHZ.

Awesome dude. Just tried out animated gifs and it worked perfectly. Thanks for they update.

Oh yeah and running Cyanogen's Rom with Pershoot's Kernel at 1.113 Ghz I get 29,810 in the mobile browser benchmark.

The 3Gs gets ~ 26,897 & the Stock Nexus One (stock browser too) gets 23,726.

I think most of this score is attributed to your browser being uber efficient along with Cyanogen's amazing rom and Pershoot's HIGH optimized uv o/c kernel.

Thanks for helping us kick the iphones but on browsing score! :)

Love the new icon! Very nice.

I am unable to log into my banking information. Please let me know what information you need to help me with this. Site address is www.esl.org

Thanks much!

Edit: I cannot log into www.citicards.com either.

It seems to be the same problem mentioned earlier, when entering my password, I get this weird line in the password field and then login errors.

I just messed around some more and my score is consistantly way up over previous ones. Im sitting around 31,000 now. Just installed Pershoots newest kernel.

Wow! This kernel is awesome! Is it possible to download it though rom manager?

I dont know but I dont think so to be honest.

Check here:
[Kernel-.33.2!] OCed - UVed: -1.113Ghz Stable - 4/05 -8MB extra ram! - xda-developers

And Here (Direct blog link /w newest builds. Usually nightly or bi-nightly):
Droid Basement - Android – Hacks, Mods, Life

Edit: I suggest using the kernel with -xtra enabled too. That includes extra kernel optimizations. That is if you intend on giving it a shot.

Edit 2: Do Nexus One kernels work on Droids though? I didn't think they do but I maybe wrong.

A quick question for the dev: what exactly does "clear everything then exit" do, besides erase the cache? Delete history? Login passwords? I'm kind of afraid to try it. :)

I *insert lots of hearts here* your browser. As soon as dear old Rogers decides to update my phone to 2.1 your definitely getting paid. LOL.

And as soon as we get Flash working on Android I'm going to have to up my MB usage. Mmmmm anime on the go. /daydream

Seriously though, I'm loving your app. Its awesome! :D

I'm sure this has been answered already, but is there any way to set this up so that only xScope is opened instead of opening it and the stock Browser everytime I surf the web? Or is xScope just using the stock Browser and overlaying its' own features (ie. pin zoom) to it?

Hey Mr. x

I still cannot log into the sites I mentioned above. I need to access these sites daily and have to start my POS laptop instead of using the browser.

Any thoughts?

Thanks. :)

I am sorry but I don't have username and password to test it.
The most common problem is expired certificate thing. Here is what I would do:
1. Try it with stock browser. If it works, please send me note. If it doesn't work, then
2. Try it with xScope, but set your user agent as computer. If still no go, then you are out of luck probably.

Settings App (not xscope settings) --> Applications --> Manage Applications --> MENU -> Filter --> All.

Find Browser, and then Clear Default.

The default apps handling has been changed since 2.1. The new update (this early morning should solve this problem. Not totally but if you set xscope as default, it will clear global default and give you a chance to choose new default)
Thanks!

Hmmm, I've already cleared my default on the stock browser. I'll see if this new update fixes it, it's not a big deal either way, I like it as it is, but I was just wondering if that was a solitary deal on my part of it was designed that way.

Thank you Mr. x - it doesn't work on any browser (yours was the first I installed). Is this just the way it is with browsers on mobile phones?

What's with the certificates?

Just curious. Thanks! :D

Is there going to be a better way to copy and paste?

The way the HTC Desire browser does copy and paste is excellent. Press and hold your finger over a word and it brings up a little display over your finger that shows you what is highlighted. With xscope and the nexus one browser, I have to tilt my screen to see what I'm hightlighting. :(

Well, I just noticed that there is a cursor that appears when I hit the copy button. Though, moving it with my trackball is not smooth. Sometimes it will move a little bit, other times it will not move.

Right now, is there any way to alter the URL of Favorites after you've already placed the page in your favorites? Or, is there a way to add a favorite by just typing in the URL without loading the page first?

Unfortunately there is no way to do so right now. Sorry about that.

It's definitely not a deal breaker. I was just trying to edit a URL I had bookmarked and didn't see that option.

Fantastic browser, and I'm glad I paid the money for it.

Yeah the bookmarks definitely still need improvement (being able to reorganize, etc). And this is on a little random side but I kind of think that the drop-shadows and everything make the homepage seem rather busy. It's not that I don't like it necessarily. But I think the looks could also be improved upon.

Is pinch zoom working in this browser? I dont mind the 'pin' zoom but sometimes i feel pinch would be so much easier
