Nexus Launcher on Eris 2.1?

So I know it's possible to install the 2.1 genie weather app and the Nexus gallery app on Eris 2.1. But is it possible to install the Nexus launcher on Eris 2.1? I'm not talking about some janky imitation that sort of looks like it, I mean the real thing. I'm talking about this:

except on Eris 2.1 (not 1.5) not the Droid.

I think he's talking about the Home launcher, not the weather app. I tried to install the Launcher app, but it forced close. So as of now, I guess it can't be installed. (That I know of).

Could you provide me with a link. All I have is this:

install launcher.apk from android 2.1 onto 2.0.1 | droid life: a motorola droid blog

And the other links on that page. But all it has is the launcher ported to 2.0.1 for the Droid. I see nothing about the apk for 2.1 on the Eris or any other 2.1 device.

Ok, that's cool. I just wanted to know. Perhaps someone will port it to the Eris 2.1 eventually.

just tried it; it force closes and gets stuck in a loop. Luckily I didn't set it for default, and was able to hit home and tap HTC Sense really quickly before it crashed again.

It's probably the screen resolution; the Droid has the same resolution as the Nexus One.

EDIT: I stand corrected, the Droid has a different resolution.
