Help LG Volt [Virgin Mobile] how to change messaging background image?

Hi all -

My boyfriend just got the LG Volt for Virgin Mobile and hates the cloud background in the stock messaging app. I don't have the phone on me but he can't figure out how to change the cloud image to something else (even a solid color would be better).

Does anyone know how to change the background image of the stock messaging app?

Open the messaging app, tap the menu button then go to "conversation theme"
