Before I root, some questions

1) I have heard there is no way to nandroid on the LG volt, is that true and why is that?

2) what app do I use to freeze bloatware before removal to make sure I don't brick my phone?

There is a way, but since our boot loader is locked we can't just flash a custom recovery, it's a little more involved than that. Read this thread: http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?t=862425

A good one is Titanium Backup or ROM Toolbox
 
You should note, however, that freezing does not guarantee that something is safe to remove. Always make a backup before removing items that can't be reinstalled from the play store. Also, there's a couple threads about this topic already, check them to see what others have been able to safely remove.

When using titanium backup, what do the colored names represent? And as long as I backup the app before deleting, I can restore with little to no problem, right?
