why can't I send a picture to friends email???

I click on the picture I want to send and try to send it to his email and it asks me which email I'd like to send it but asks me for passwords and other info.... Why can't I just share it to his email???

Do you have any email apps set up on your phone? Because it sounds to me like you do not, or are selecting one that is not. I believe the phone should ask you which email app you want to use to send the picture first. And then it will ask for a password if the app you select is not set up on your device.

At least that is how it works for me. I go to my gallery, select the picture, then select the 'share' button, then I will get a popup window with the options to share, 'email', messaging, gmail, etc.

Yes exactly... I only have my gmail acc on my phone.... I've never had an android phone that I couldn't send a pic to a friends email... So how can I share a pic to friends email?

I go to my gallery, select the picture, then select the 'share' button, then I will get a popup window with the options to share, 'email', messaging, gmail, etc.

That's how I do it on my HTC M8.

Right.. That's what I'm saying... I'll hit the email option but it asks me for passwords and other info... I can't just type in my friends email and hit send.. There's no option for that

You say you select the email option. Have you tried selecting the gmail option? I know it sounds like I'm being anal, but you said that gmail is the only acct you have setup, therefore you should select the gmail option. On my phone, both will show up. If it doesn't show a 'gmail' option, scroll down to more to find it and then select it.

I don't know. Maybe they were not Android phones? And to make sure of my method I have posted, I fired up my Galaxy Nexus, and my Motorola RazrM to make sure it is the same method on both of those android phones. It is. I could go fire up my Motorola Droid 1 but I know it is the same to send a picture via email on it as well.

what email are you trying to send it with? gmail or the other email app? It sounds like you are trying to send it with the other email app and you do not have it setup with email accounts.
Either setup an email account on the email app or ensure you are using gmail to send the pic. if problems still continue to the steps listed here.

I wasn't talking about sending it to their phones. I was talking about the method I have laid out to send a picture from your phone to an email.

Let me try it again:

In your gallery, select the picture you want to send. Then select the 'share' icon. In the drop down list that will pop up, if the 'gmail' option is not shown, tap the 'show more' until you find your gmail icon, then tap that. Then you should be able to type in your friend's email address.

I powered up the other phones of mine to amke sure that it was the same on them as it is on the M8. It is.

If you still have problems, please state exactly where in the above instructions that you have your failure.
