He is right. Its been on to the public since at least Sunday..

eieio, what can you tell me about Dayton, OH? I know it has Clear internet, just wondering if its being converted for Sprint 4G coverage too. (I think thats how Harrisburg was at first).
 
How long after the towers get erected, will it be before they switch on the 4G in Pittsburgh? How long does it need to be tested? I'm still getting the EVO anyways but another member said towers were going up in Pittsburgh.

To many variables to answer this. Not trying to be cryptic either.. I know of a city that has been live for over a year and not open to the public..

I'm pretty sure it is legit. Androidandme.com is very official. They always say speculating if so. But I can understand the curiosity in it. And the other day before the thread was closed down, eieio said the east coast would get it. He mentioned dc, md, and va(i'm in va).

but yea he should confirm it.

Oh nvm, he did.

I just can't wait for this phone to be out. The videos and pics posted in the hybrid incredible thread were nice to I can't wait for the experience with the evo

you may have mentioned it previously, but when will the dc metro region, specifically maryland cities like bethesda and rockville get turned on? this area is a huge market for sprint with all of the gov't contracts etc so i'm kinda shocked it has not been more of a focus for them.

Ok I lied last wimax reply..

They are on and functioning even on the metro in some areas. Honestly not sure why they are not advertised to the public
 
hey bill, I know you are the one that tipped the wimax thread that grand rapids would be getting it. Have you heard anything else since then about G.R.?
 
Hey guys, I have been looking at this thread ever since I heard about the Evo being release (unfortunately this was well after the announcement). I was very excited about the specs and wanted to come here to get more information. Right now, I own an iPhone 3G and have since a little after it's launch. There are of course many things I do not like, but I cannot act until my contract runs out in July. Unless the new iPhone blows me away (I highly doubt it will), I will be definitely switching to Sprint and the Evo.

Anyways, I am glad that this thread was re-opened. I watched from afar as it was going down, but thanks to TS and Bill for keeping this alive. Also, thanks to Jackson, eieio, and anyone else that shares information. With this being cleaned up and reopened, look for me to post a bit more, especially when I have many questions.

I cannot wait until May 12th!
 
What happens if Sprint does not drop the release date or pricing info on May 12th??

Are you guys going to be mad??
 
I personally would not be mad. It happens, right now there is nothing concrete saying that there will be info released on May 12th, it all just seems to be speculation. If they do not drop the release date, I will simply keep waiting until news comes out, anxiously.

Heh, I hate to say it but I'm not expecting anything new on the 12th. Not gonna get mad, I just will be even more impatient than I am right now. I think people are setting themselves up for a let down by expecting to hear good news on the 12th. Expect nothing and be surprised if it happens! Works a lot better :)
