Root [MetroPCS] [ROM] KitKat 4.4.2 NEW BETA 4

Normally aparted doesn't work on these new roms. I accidentally deleted my external card so I decided to try it. It worked flawless. So those trying to do this for link2sd. Good news. You can do it after the fact on this rom

THERE IS ONE PROBLEM WITH PLAY STORE, AFTER YOU SIGN IN THE FIRST TIME IT GIVES AN ERROR ABOUT AN UPDATE AND THEM FREEZES, ONCE YOU REBOOT THE PHONE IT SHOULD WORK FILE

For those who want all the the files that I took from the D50520B_00.kdz, except data and cache
The files are in raw image (partition) format, except system, I mounted that image and copied all the files to a system folder for ease of access, I did not modify the contents of the system folder, it is as it was found. Its a big ass folder like 1.4 GB uncompressed

THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH FOR THIS ROM I LOVE YOU NOT IN A HOMO WAY BUT THANK YOU oh and btw when I go into the settings and go to home screen settings the settings crashes please fix that
 
I just installed this ROM, with TWRP. It comes up fine (no hangs, boot-loops etc), but I'm not even able to make phone calls, even though I have all bars for signal strength. Data networking also doesn't work.
Any ideas? I did do a factory reset before upgrading to this ROM.

you need to change the APNS maybe also change the build.prob to one that wsa modified long ago that fixed LTE, the IR region and some other stuff
 
I changed the APN, chose LTE (from the secret menu from phone dialer), still data no go.
Also, plain vanilla phone calls do not depent on APN settings, isn't it?
 
Is there any consensus on common bugs and fixes for those bugs for the latest beta for this ROM? Just wondering before I try to flash later today. A bug list on OP would be very ideal! :)

OK I found the theme for it but now how am I supposed to apply the theme if I cant get access to the home screen settings because it crashes if I try to
 
hroark13, thanks for the great work! I'm currently running Beta 4 since I liked the stripped down version more. The LTE fix (changing OPEN to TMO) worked for me.

Some bugs that I'm currently experiencing:

  1. lock screen wallpaper resets every reboot
  2. "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped." error message when I try to go into the "Home screen" settings
  3. the settings menu switches between the one with toggles at the top (networks/sound/display/general) and the long style where everything is on one page
  4. "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped." error when I click on the edit image icon
  5. knock-on/off is intermittent

Thanks again for the hard work.
 
Does the rom still have the random boot issue still or has it been stabilized? The rom looks very promising! Why can't LG, just provide us the KitKat themselves... We have been waiting like a civilized costumers..... :)
 
I used this to upgrade my lg optimus f6 (metro pcs) and it worked like a song. I had towelrooted, too. Thank you, hroark13, and all devs concerned!

I've never had a random boot and everything has been stable for me so? Yessir
 
ok...now for some possibly redundant questions .....

i understand ir remote is non-op ...does that mean the ir eye is non-op or is it just the app that's not jiving with it?

and...

i think i read that quick memo is also non-op.....is that the app...or is the "quick memo button" not even recognized and without drivers in CM11?

if it's just an app replacement issue...it's not an issue at all...

if both "features" of our beloved F6 are just not available ....i'm still not sold on this ROM (as if my opinion matters to the rest of my daring fellow F6er's) ...

i would like to have this going on...and those were 2 features i didnt know about or care about....but,quick memo kinda beats writing on the back of my hand....

and ir...it's there...it only works on one of my t.v.'s...and i have yet to "hack" t.v.'s at the local electronics store with it.....but i just forget it's there ...but, since it's there i'ld like to be able to use it...

o.k. ...sorry..i got to meandering....
