Awesome Best Buy deal for Note 4 Upgrade

I justccame back from Best Buy and I asked them about the price match. They said they would be able to do it. I would just need to get a manager to approve it. I guess we will see what happens.

But will the price match both the retail price (to lower tax) and the subsidized price?

I asked about the retail price and let them know I wanted to get the lower tax price. They said it could be done. I will ask another Best Buy this weekend and see what they say.

I still find it a tad incredulous that some were actually expecting to piggy back the BB offer with the direct to Samsung one. I thought folks were joking in different forums, but appears not for the most part.

Some even seem entitled. Wild.

Wow, that is pretty bold. I always laugh at people feeling entitled to anything. Nothing in life is free, is a philosophy I live by, so when there are deals, I appreciate them, but don't abuse them. #Karma

Just left my local Best Buy and I am mad as usual when I walk into that store. The people at first had no idea about anything. Then when they found it they still could not figure out how to preorder one for me. Asked if I could come back tomorrow and they would try it again. Really???? Stopped at the Verizon store and preorder mine. :-)
Only will need to enter info on the 10th for the rebate.
I swear every frickin time that store pisses me off!!!!

I went to three best buys today and they all said they were out of Verizon pre orders...anyone else on Verizon having any trouble ordering one

People in some of their stores are clueless. You may need to find a different BB.

When I went to BB yesterday to ask questions on the rebate I was directed to their Samsung desk. The guy there told me to call AT&T !!! When I called AT&T they too were clueless about the BB rebate.

Just pre-ordered today. I didn't have a clue, I've been trying to decide between the Note 4 or S5 for a few weeks and was just looking at the physical differences when I was approached. This offer was the 2nd thing he said to me without my prompting. While I waited I was watching the Circus that is the mobile section and many we're discussing, so it just wasn't me lucky to run into a one off.

AT&T contract. The $200 only applies for 2yr contract, NEXT plans or raw phone purchase do not count. I have a nation 450 unlimited plan and it will not change. I cannot confirm or deny a limit to the # of pre-orders total or per carrier.
My S2 or my iPhone 3GS will work for the trade in. As long as the phone shows >0 in their system... The 3GS shows $5... it qualifies. Note 4 on the kiosk and my asking shows $299.99 with 2yr and they confirmed that would be the selling price for me.

I actually have that $50 reserved gift cert from back in Feb. it states it's good for a phone upgrade and can be used towards the cost of the phone itself... Explicitly states that, and expire date is Dec 31, 2014. However there's lots of small print at the bottom... the two that could pose as a block is it 1. Some phones may not qualify... but it does not give any info on how to determine what does. 2. It says it cannot be consecutively applied with offer... however I think it is talking about multiple of this specific offer since you could get up to 4 of them per plan... I.e. one $50 per phone per line, you could not use all 4 for one phone.

There's interpretation in that fine print, but I plan on trying it. It won't hurt and I don't feel bad... they hounded me back in Feb to do it and that Email account has paid spades in BB spam, so I'll play hard for them to honor it.

Though there still is not a common answer, the key part that Samsung failed to communicate in the offer is this is for contracts only and no full price purchases at all. That part at least now appears to be the most common response.

Makes sense for business, but not articulating this in the core offer wording is purely asinine.

I tried to preorder a VZW Note 4 all weekend and unfortunately I heard the same response that pre-orders are "sold out." I contacted 5 different Best Buys in the Los Angeles area today and none were able to place a pre-order for a VZW Note 4. They could place orders for ATT and Sprint models.

Wow, that is a first. Never heard of a pre-order selling out. Note 4 might make up for s5 not selling as well as anticipated.

Ok, so rumors of this "sell out" are definitely not true.

I stopped by a local Best Buy while out for lunch and was successfully able to pre-order my VZW Note 4. This was the same store who this morning had told me their pre-order inventory was sold out.

So bottom line (1) Best Buy reps don't know what the heck is going on and (2) as of 12:30 PDT, you should be able to pre-order a VZW Note 4. If it wasn't for Best Buy's instant trade-in rebate, I would have definitely purchased elsewhere.

Best Buy Verizon allocations are apparently regional and going fast across the country. Hence some areas are okay and then not, by each day.

Perhaps there will be "extras" when the folks expecting full price to get the BB offer are rejected ;) Added: Too late at that point to even get the offer.

I can only guess the ones that will argue the most at BB will be the ones that thought they could get both offers ;)

That usually is how denial of entitlement works :)

LOL...Good stuff. Quite honestly, if I didn't get such great deals from upgrading through Best Buy in the past, I likely would avoid buying there as well. That said, their $200 rebate is the best available deal that I've seen. Three of my relatives pre-ordered the Note 4 because of it...LOL. And they already verified that Best Buy will take their Motorola Photon Q's as trade in.

I will be turning in my wife's GS2, and giving her my GS3. I would not be buying my Note 4 from Best Buy had it not been for the $200.00 deal. I was going to wait until after the phone was released to buy it. But I could not pass on this deal.

Hi, I BRAND NEW lol, and my knowledge of all things electronic and cell related pales in comparison to what I have been reading on these Note 4 threads. So wondering if I could I get some help? I really am wanting the Note 4 and I am currently with Tmobile. I have a better plan IMO that what I would be getting if I were to switch to Verizon. So if I understand it correctly, Best Buy will price match Amazon. So if Amazon has the Verizon Note 4 contract free at $699.00 Would they price match a TMobile Note 4 at that price since Tmobile is contract free? Then if the BB offers Tmobile service and IF they did price match, I might or might not get the $200 BB rebate depending on if they know if it is contract only or not. If I cannot get the BB $200 rebate because it is a non contract Note 4, I could then however apply for the $200 Samsung rebate? Sorry if I have made this more difficult than necessary. Just wanting to make sure I can get the best deal, so annoyed because my husband almost had me switched to Verizon last week to preorder the Note 4 and I asked about 5 times if there was a promo of some kind and was told NO every time. Thanks so much!

Drex are you getting the Sprint version? If so can you verify that Best Buy participates in the Samsung $200 trade in offer. I heard that it doesn't, that only Sprint does. I know for sure that Amazon doesn't. But I want to be certain.

Hey ts, not likely upgrading. Still very happy with the 3. I was only planning on doing the Best Buy trade in, on contract if I decided to upgrade. The Samsung deal, from my understanding, is they subtract the value of the phone ($10 minimum) from the 200 and that would be the amount received back from Samsung. Best Buy deal is $200 gift card that goes towards purchase, in upgrade. There is also conflicting information on whether either deal can be done off contract.

Ok cool thanks

Here's the thing that's confusing. On the top of the pre-order page, this is what it says:

Get a $200 Best Buy gift card at time of purchase with trade in of any working smartphone.

Here are the fine print details Best Buy has on the pre-order site (bolded portions are what make it confusing):

Valid 9/19/14-10/16/14. In store only. Valid on purchase of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on AT&T, Sprint or Verizon. Taxes/surcharges due at time of purchase. Taxes applied to price of phone prior to the gift card credit. Not all phones are eligible for trade-in and trade-in value may vary. Excludes phones that are cracked, water-damaged or that lack power. Not available in all locations and some stores may have additional limitations. Not compatible with other trade-in offers. No rainchecks. See BestBuy.com/TradeIn for full details.

These are the conflicts I see
- Is it a full $200 gift card or "trade-in value"?
- Any working smartphone or not all phones?
- In store only or can a phone pre-order w/ in-store pickup be set up?

Now, many people have gone in and one consistent answer has been that any working smartphone (as long as it powers on and doesn't have cracks or major water damage) will get a $200 gift card to put towards the purchase of an upgraded phone. That is understood.

After reading more of the fine print details that I quoted, the people that were rumored as trying to "double dip" between the Best Buy and Samsung deal will definitely not be able to do it, as it clearly states that the Best Buy offer is "not compatible with any other trade-in offers."
