replacing digitizer?

Thanks everyone for your help/suggestions in my previous thread on what to do about my cracked screen.

I think at this point the cheapest option would be for me to buy a replacement digitizer ($65) and try and do the replacement myself. Does anyone know how to do this? Or know of a youtube link or website that has step by step instructions for replacing the digitizer? I searched but could not find anything.

I'm about to attempt this repair (ordered the digitizer today). Will let you know how it turns out.

Also paid $65 on eBay for the digitizer. I have someone sending me some instructs for disassembly and will post them hopefully soon.

I recently performed this fix on my sisters Eris. I too purchased the ebay replacement for $65.00. It really is a simple fix. You will need some sort of adhesive to affix the new digitizer as the new one does not come with any. I used 3m vhb double sided tape.

will replacing the digitizer cure the dead areas of my touch screen?
