Root [Virgin Mobile/Sprint] OC V6... one kernel to rule them all

Well-Known Member
I present Overclock V6 for the Virgin Mobile LS720.

Overclock CPU to 1.83 ghz (I recommend 1.72 ghz as most devices are unstable at 1.83gz).

Overclock GPU to 544 mhz

TRIM support on internal data partition for IO performance !

kernel based Mp Decision - amazing battery life and amazing performance when needed

compiled with GCC 4.9 with Krait / Cortex A15 cpu enhancements

simple CWM update.zip

works with all firmware versions V5,V6,V7, and V8

I recommend using 'OnDemand' frequency scheduler with max at 1.72, and 'noop' IO scheduler.

As always, use at your own risk. I am not responsible if you fry your device.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing!

I just flashed with no problems at all. Going to test this out tonight.

Is the GPU setting available? I didn't see it using No-Frills CPU tuner. Just curious, that's all.

there is no setting. the frequency is controlled automatically.

actually thats not true. you can control the max frequency via the

/sys/class/kgsl/kgsl-3d0

file system interface.

you would need a program that supports it. but I don't think you need to lower the max (the std is 400 MHz)

Does this fix the random reboots from the previous versions?
I never had random reboots running at 1.72.

if you are having problem set the max to 1.2 and see if you do. if you don't then it is just the build tolerance of your CPU...

Switching the Governor to "powersave" for now might be a quick work around for battery drain. but again with any overclock you are going to see bad battery drain, if you buy SetCPU, you can set profiles for when the Phone is asleep, in an app, on a phone call, etc. Really nice.

removed comment on battery drain. needs more research ...
all is good. I had set the governor to performance which will draw more battery when asleep due to Google location services, now, etc.

as I said governor should be ondemand in almost all cases.
