That last post was to say "HEY Man, Come Visit the..." but i could go back to edit it. PLEEEEEEZE dont tell me i have to create a new profile..... that's UN'Merikan

No options for attachments, emoticons or links in Firefox; just plain text with (if prefered) a quote.

Looks like taptalk or android forums app is the way to start to avoid making a new account. Then try the browser. But before you try browser clear the android forums from your history

Multi quote on Dolphin browser - completely broken.

And the entire mobile experience is Lag Central.

It doesn't work quite the same as vB, I noticed. You have to +Quote on every post and then use insert quote at the bottom. You can't + quote all but one and then 'reply' to the last - which is what you'd do on vB.

The identification of "AF Contributor" seems to be gone. I've seen badges for Administrator, Moderator, Guide, and VIP member, but no love for us Contributors.

QUESTION: Are all avatars now resized and converted to jpg, or only the ones transitioned from the old board?
Not sure on the avatars.

I'd check your AF Contributor status but I no longer have that available. :D Sorry (but it's true).

Note to Rico unless I'm ninja'd - Xenforo and vBulletin are not just skins, they're different engines with their own set of options and skins.

This is the future of mobile browsing - there is no desktop view. While we're there a little earlier with Xenforo, might as well get used to it, Google is moving to ignore the desktop agent altogether.

You can't get a proper desktop view of Phandroid either anymore.

Everyone loves it - Google for the Hawthorne Effect - it's just as wonderful as "material design" - if you know what I mean and I think that you do. ;)

(And "material design" not an actual design term lmao, it really ought to be called "marketing design" but that's for another thread.)

can't get any were get don't have perdition no material What devices I log in to this is roadkill and email is XXX.

Erased your address from your post. Please, it is unwise to post your mail address in a public site, especially in one of this size. It would bring you a pile of spam. If you see a report button in the lower left corner of my post, use that for private contact with moderators/admin.

My Everloving "Siggy" is GOWNE. And the number of characters are extremely limited! No URL hot link options, no more refernce quick status updates via our siggies.....:(

It's all based on the effective screen width of your browser rather than whether it reports itself as a desktop or mobile. It chops bits out and moves stuff around to fit the available screen width. It works great until you find a certain situation where it doesn't, at which point it is frustrating.

So is forum browsing on Tapatalk broken for anyone else?
It works fine for me on other forums, just not this one.

Yeah, quite a few reports of Tapatalk problems have been coming in. You may apparently have more luck with the non-branded version rather than the AF branded one.

Hey there @Xyro, Yup I gotcha. and yup i noticed too that google is stripping desktop view on mobile devices ...whats this world coming to! By gum i was a desktop-Formattist from birff and I shall Diiiih uh Desktop-Formattist! You're right, the only browser that allows me to bypass Googles 'Forced' freedom is Firefox browser, but i am noticing some glitches using it on the trusty android.

"Material Design' is exactly what you've said it is "marketing " at its best.

Think I've come across a bug with a link to a moved thread.

In the "android news & talk" forum there's a thread 2015 Flagship Phones. I think the thread was moved to the "Device/Carrier Comparisons" subforum, and that this "thread" is really a link, or rather was a link before the XenForo migration. If I click on it now it doesn't take me to the thread, just gives me a reply box with no posts to read.

Don't know whether this is a general problem with redirects (or with redirects that pre-dated the forum update) or just a one-off quirk, as I've not stumbled on any other examples so far.

Brought to you by Google - the people that first removed text reflow from WebKit (mustn't have other browsers doing what mobile Chrome cannot).

This is their solution to the problem they invented by breaking stuff that worked perfectly fine.

And the real reason has zero to do with appearance quality.

How many of us have done this - go to YouTube (a division of Google Skynet), get the message of either insufficient permissions or not available in your country, switch to mobile browser with desktop agent, and boom, watch video, done.

This is all about fixing what they don't like and is zero about viewing quality.

Redirects are pants in general right now, sorry.
