Yeah it may not be raining for everyone on Tapatalk but that doesn't mean that it's not raining on anyone else.

I've done the versions, the cleaning and clearing, the whole catastrophe, with Tapatalk AND a bunch of browsers -

Sorry but we're simply broken in a lot of places.

I've put together a quick summary for Phases from my experiences and the feedback here - to focus attention on our biggest problems as soon as possible.

Your patience is very much appreciated!

Ask me if I like the new format in a couple of weeks. Anyway, here is what I have found so far running on a desktop with Firefox on (Yuck!) Windows 7 Pro (I think PRO st6ands for PROblems.).

The messages say you must be logged in to use the forums but there is only a register button! Change the label to login. You already have the options to either login or register once the button is pressed.

Firefox has the report button, but not the edit button.

You can only post a reply. The preview post button is missing. This was very handy to make sure you entered the proper link before you posted it. Hmmm? How do you correct a bad link without edit?

There is only a limited number of emoticons. I miss some of the more advanced ones like the horror or scared one.

Maybe more later...

I cleared data from the AF app and started from scratch, now I can log in again and it works. I had to re-select my favorite forums even though they were tagged in the forum list, they didn't show up in the Favorites tab until I reselected them.
So now that's done, here's another issue- the Carriers forums are no longer showing up in the forums list, either here or through the app. They're still there and I can get to them through my old bookmarks so the URL's haven't changed but they need to be added to the main forums page. Until that's done there's no way for the app to see them.
I think this may be the case for any other forums that aren't under the "Android" category.

Don't know if this has been reported, but there is no apparent way for AF Contributors (and all staff I would assume) to set status (NMI, Answered, etc.) on answered threads in the Android Questions (i.e., non-member) sub-forum. Tried this with Chrome, Firefox, and IE10.
Correction - it is possible, it's just not possible for me (though it should be).
This post has been marked as Answered within the past hour.

I paged through to see if this bug was already on this thread, my apologies if I missed it. I signed up for this forum to root my LG Optimus Elite (so I don't have to deal with another phone not logging into Amazon Appstore, for instance), and I can't download the following attachments: http://androidforums.com/attachments/ministro-ii-apk.38892/ and http://androidforums.com/attachments/poot-debug-apk.38891/. I also went hunting for another example (also non-working) and here it is: http://androidforums.com/attachments/sdk-tools-zip.54908/ I found that example on this page: http://androidforums.com/threads/adb-guide-updated-2014-11-11.443072/.

Removed bad sdk-tools link - can't upload the replacement.

Will try to sort this quickly.

Here are a couple more quirks.

The "Watched Forums" screen contains a list of old sections eg Verizon, Droid Turbo, Lounge, etc. If I select one of these, I get a Requested Forum could not be found message.

On the "New Posts" screen there isn't a column to tell you what section the thread is in. For example is that thread in the Verizon or the Droid Turbo section.

I preferred the other lay out it was quick and easy to get around now it's undefined no categorys have to search for What I want more now

The new "Android Forums" is cumbersome, at best, to navigate. I have yet to figure how to locate the latest of a lengthy string of comments. Is it possible to bring back to former version of AF; I do not see any improvement to the new version. If there were an alternative, I would immediately move to it!

I've gotten ahold of Phases, he's got the site dev - we've assembled an ordered list of the bugs reported so far needing immediate attention and asked for dark theme to go to top of enhancements list.

We're working with all possible haste.

Keep 'em coming, thanks!

PS - Phases' pm and mailbox is blowing up - if you can see this and log in, please tell us here if you have problems.

If you can't log in, that's the number one priority and right now.

Thank you!

What you are looking at is the Quick Reply box at the bottom of the page. If you want the full features of posting, including being able to preview your post, you can press the "More Options..." button on the lower right of the click reply box.

As far as Emoticons go, XenForo default is limited but the Forum Admin can add any emoticons he or she wishes to add via the ACP > Home > Smilies options.

Yea!, I can get on the forums now. last night after logging in all I could see was an error message telling me I didn't have access to whatever link I was trying to go to. The only thing I could was use the "contact us" link on the website to ask for help. Thanks to whoever fixed this.

Well, I'm getting used to it and quite liking it already. For someone who hates change this says more about me who declared not five hours ago that I hated it. I have my phone (Note 3) using Chrome and my aging Vista (spit spit) laptop viewing the same page (also in Chrome) of the forum and painstakingly doing the same things on each one (other than actual posting). I'm actually finding they are behaving and viewing the same way, more or less. I'm getting happier the more I explore and have a root around. :)

I have the option to click Best Answer on a post in that forum, but only if the thread was started after the forum upgrade. For older posts I can't. Can you see the option in this thread?
Yes, but the Edit button for AF Contributors (or any staff) is MIA. Without that, threads cannot be marked NMI, Answered, or CFR.

It's just not showing up for everyone.
This is a permission setting. Be sure that EVERYONE is set up as a "Registered" user and enable the permission there. Moderators such as yourself, admins, etc... should all have that set up as a Secondary usergroup.
