Possible bug, this happens almost every time for me, can anyone test:

1. You get a notification/alert.
2. Click on the notification to view the post/like.
3. Go back to the last page.
4. Viewed notification is still new and alerting you.

I can replicate this, but I have a feeling it's just a caching issue.

Mine is the opposite. I have 50 or 60 notifications when I wake up in the morning and they clear before I can scroll the the oldest.

The app is not compatible with my phone, i just read every line in my build.prop nothing about DPI to change?
I'm on an old LG Optimus V running Gingerbread (i know i desperately need a new phone) ;)
Yes it is a DPI what ROM are you running

Are you using your browser's back button in step 3? Or navigating back by clicking a link?

Even after a few minutes (step 4) of waiting for it to update/refresh it still stays as new, not sure it that helps with the caching possibility.

I only see the last 10 or so, but I mean the red box still shows me I have new alerts after I've seen them when going back a page.

Back button for step 3. Clicking to a new page removes the alert notification.

Okay, that explains it then. My understanding of the back button is that the page it takes you back to is not reloaded from scratch but is the same data you loaded the first time. That's why it appears so fast. E.g. how in vBulletin AF if you posted in a thread and hit the back button it would display the page without your post, until you hit refresh to actually redownload the page.

For me that always depended on the browser, device and phase of the moon.

If the cache is too small for the windows or tabs open on my phone, back always yielded a refresh for example.

That makes sense, I just thought that since the Alerts have the ability to auto update when you have a new alert (without going to a new page) that the notification would vanish even when going back to the previous page.

Yeah, good point, it would make sense to have it work like that too.

Sorry for not posting earlier, but i'm not getting all the emails from this thread and i can't read posts towards the bottom of a page.
I am running MiRaGe Rom by mrg666. I also have Pure Performance tweak on here from XDA.

Believe me, i have read all of the build.prop file several times, there is no DPI in it anywhere. Dang it, no edit button!

Another option that I've stumbled across (rather than artificially reducing text size, zoom, or DPI) is to rotate your device to landscape. At least on my N4, several of the toolbar options (including My Forums and My Posts) show up in landscape while they were omitted (for space) in portrait orientation. Personally, I think that's a great compromise - portrait for reading through a thread, landscape for navigating about.

Sorry codesplice, i was just trying to read your post (one letter on top of the other, with missing letters) and then i saw it, the word "landscape " Thank you, that definitely helps, at least i can read all the way down a page now!!! ;)

If you haven't noticed, things look a little bit different around here. That's because after 7 years on vBulletin, Android Forums has finally upgraded to XenForo!

We know things aren't perfect. We've already got a long list of improvements we want to make, features we want to add, bugs we need to kill, and the list goes on. We're hoping you help add to that list so we can continue making Android Forums the #1 community for Android enthusiasts.

We're especially interested in squashing any bugs off the bat, but we're eager to hear all of your opinions and feedback below, whatever the nature.

Yes, Thanks a lot,
I have known that you upgraded your forum into Xenforo. However, via my dashboard at your forum, When I've tried to upload my same Gravatar used in the xenforo.com community, I faced an error

In that picture, you didn't change the radio button to the Gravatar option... did you do so when you tried to submit it?

Yes, I tried many times. If you have now seen my avatar, you will see it shown as I have tried to upload it. However, I think it followed me from xenforo.com as long as I uploaded the same gravatar at Xenforo forum.
However, it wasn't uploaded while trying to upload it via your forum
