What did you move on to?

I gave up on Verizon... I went Nexus 4 on an AT&T GoPhone SIM, phone is amazing, I had no idea how bad battery life really was on the Rez until I got this and went 5 hours of screen time and 20 hours of normal use and still had 20% battery and it never hit the charger!

I have not seen any noticeable differences. The reception issues I've read about usually stem from people using cases/batteries that seem to block the signal.
 
The Rez has been mostly good to me. Still love the sharp display and excellent radio, but the proximity sensor has never worked all that well. Outgoing call volume goes wonky while on the charger. Almost 2yr old HTC extended battery now doesn't hold much more charge than the standard one, and the microUSB charging port isn't as tight as it ought to be.

Oh yeah, and the camera has sucked since Day 1. Mine seems to be an anomaly, and I've cleaned the lens properly, but the pictures I've taken weren't even as good as from my OG Droid.

Galaxy Note 3 on pre-order, looking forward to my first phablet. :D
 
I went to the S4 from the Rez and so far both call quality and data speeds have been very good. Wifi seems to be a bit faster too. Battery life is surprisingly good too. I'm still getting used to the size of the S4 - I loved the size of the rez for one handed use.
 
Replying to say I just ordered the S4. My Rezound has been getting worse. Locking up and getting really hot when using GPS. The batteries are not lasting as long either and thats with after market ones including extended.

My wife is loving her S4 now for the past few months. I know I'm late to the game but Verizon offered to upgrade me earlier than my February 2014 date. I looked at HTC One but with no way to swap batteries or SD card that put me off. Its a real nice phone and features but thats it.

I'm also losing the unlimited data as well but they offered me 6GB at the $30 price point I pay now. I barely been using 3GB as it is now so I'm not too concerned about it.

HTC has been lacking at least on VZ and with no new phone that I can tell in the pipeline I figure Sammy was the best choice.
 
Great choice FNT, the S4 is an excellent phone keeping a lot of the Rezound virtues. And 6GB sure beats VZW's base 2GB allotment. Enjoy!
 
At this point, I might as well just wait a few more months until the S5 is released...

P.S. for anyone who still has unlimited data, a Costco membership, and a family share plan, you can keep unlimited data on all but one line of your family plan. Stop by the kiosk at Costco and ask for details.

I replaced my Rezound with a Moto X and couldn't be more pleased!

Same height/width form factor that I liked about the Rez, but lighter (thank goodness) thinner and with more battery! Physically, it's the Rez 2 that HTC never made.

There were a few HTC features that I missed, but managed to find apps for most items:

Sync.ME - for facebook contact pictures/birthdays/data

Dayframe - for slideshow while docked similar to the dock mode on the Rezound.

HD Widgets - for weather & clock widget and settings widgets
 
Moved to Sammy's Note 3 a week or 2 ago... screen seemed comically large for 2 days -- novelty wore off and it's amazing. My wife's S4 feels like a first gen iPhone lol.

And the battery? Don't even get me started on how awesome it is.
 
I migrated to the M8... the new HTC One. I'm a steadfast HTC guy I guess. The M8 is a very solid phone with an astounding battery life. I've been using it a month or so now with zero problem. The camera on the M8 was less than well received but I'm getting better pics than my retired Rez. After a month or so use I can recommend the M8 to anyone that desires an HTC upgrade. Sense is super smooth on this phone and the metal case is very classy.

Just got an iPhone a week ago after being saddled with Androids for years and years. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! This phone hasn't crashed since I bought it. My HTCs, LGs, Motos and Samsungs crashed many times a day.

If you can get an S5, by all means do so. I was TRYING to hold out until the I-6 was available (with the larger screen), but now I wonder why I didn't switch years ago.

so finally moving onto HTC One M8. never have been too fast to the table when it comes to replacing my phones. Always seem to wait a bit. Went from first Incredible to Rezound and now to M8.
 
just realized I am on the same phone schedule as you olbriar LOL... just a little bit behind you.


and I too have never had a problem with phone crashing. Neither have my wife and kids. They are all on Samsung track, I seem to like HTC better. Considered iphone 6, but just didn't have the heart to do it.
 
I just switched to an M8. I bought my rezound off Ebay refurbished it lasted over a year it just died for no reason. I liked the phone but the battery life was horrible. The M8 is great.
 
Well it's about time for a new phone. Wow what a difference in three years. The android phones are so big. I never thought that I might be looking at a iphone but I can at least still hold the iphone 6. It seems that all the android phones are made for giants or for two handed operation. Maybe the Galaxy S6 will get smaller, but I doubt it. Oh well.
 
It's been four month now since graduating from Android to Apple (5s) - still remarkably stable. With all factors considered, Apple is both cheaper and better - a no-brainier - even for readers of this board.

If you like Apple, and your iPhone 5S, hey, more power to you and I am glad you found the right device for yourself...

Your statements do not jive with reality though, it is not cheaper, and "better" is purely subjective, I doubt most users on this forum would agree at all with what you are saying. If you came here to start an argument, it won't be tolerated, besides, trying to change peoples minds on the Android vs Apple debate is like trying to convince a Ford fan that a Chevy or Dodge is better... You won't, the only thing that will really change their minds is their own experiences.

More like Turkey Hill and Haagen Dazs - precious few ever trickle back to a droid after experiencing an iPhone. My point is simply that, not only is the iPhone better, but when all costs are considered, it is significantly cheaper - to even the price-sensitive buyer. Look at the resale value of iPhones versus ANY droid. Look at the cost to maintain. Look at the obsolescence timeframe - and cost to upgrade. Look also at the wasted problem-resolution time - hardly a trivial factor.

Ford versus Chevy?
Hardly!
Unless EVERYONE who tries both becomes a permanent Ford devotee.
 
I customized a Moto X last night, should be getting the phone next week, I can't wait. I used their cyber Monday code to get $140 off. I'm kinda afraid of its size tho.

Like others were stating, my Rezound also has been heating up, lagging, freezing up, not dialing right away but a few minutes later, typing but no letters appearing, all kinds of madness. I need relief.
