If you are rooted with Xposed and want to avoid being nagged for the update, disable the Update service. I used the Amplify module for this, but there are other modules/methods as well.Attempted to update the OTA since it kept nagging me. Ended up with "Error" shortly after attempting. Needed to volume up + power to reboot the thing. I did forget to unroot and disable xposed.
If your phone is rooted, just disabled the Update Service. I used Amplify (Xposed module), but you could also freeze it with something like Titanium Backup.Does anyone know of an app that will turn off the "System update available" in my notification tray? I'm sick of seeing it, I'm not ready to update to 5.0! 4.4.4 is a great Android OS and I don't know if I will ever update to 5.0, I really need something to turn this notification OFF!
Getting 5.0 on my phone was a major pain in the ass. I tried everything including fastboot flashing individual images and running the TGZ package scripts with no luck. What finally worked was using Wugzfresh to unbrick, root and flash 4.4.2 back, and then let the phone update 3 times to 5.0I've had the OTA notification for a while but it won't install. It downloads and then when it does the reboot I see it trying to update then I get the 'Red Triangle'. It reboots again back to 4.4.4
Phone was rooted but still using the stock ROM so I did a factory restore, I'm still getting the same issue.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
My only gripes are the lack of stock messaging (I hate hangouts), and keyboard looks weird with no key outlines. But yeah, wow. Love it.
