prepaid options for road trip?

I'm on the TMo $30 plan which has no data coverage between cities. Their other plans have minimal (<50 MB) roaming allowances. I use Google Voice so other carriers won't be a problem. I considered getting a ST ATT sim but I've read mixed info on coverage. Are there any other suggestions for temporary coverage while traveling?

Edit: is there any reason the Verizon's Allset plan wouldn't work?

What about a prepaid hotspot? You could use it for mobile data and wifi calling. I don't have any suggestions on which one but you might look into that option.

Any MVNO has somewhat more limited coverage than a contract with a major carrier, but AT&T MVNO coverage is pretty good in my experience, even their own "MVNO," Gophone. So, ST ought to be okay. They cover most of the interstates as well as population centers, except Kansas, which no one covers. ;)

OK, I'll look into the go phone plans. It's hard to find reliable info on ST and the last thing I want is to be stuck without precious internet access

Thank god I can go around the vast nothingness of Kansas!

Verizon wont activate Nexus 5 phones on their network. For coverage your next best option is AT&T - check out Cricket (AT&T MVNO).

Bummer! I've been put off by cricket, but I haven't looked into them closely and things might be better after being bought by ATT

They are much better, and affordable, plus coverage is great, wish I made the move alot sooner ;)
