What Ghz are you using? Are you using SetCPU with custom profiles? I think I may have my idle set to low and stuff. I think I'm going to throttle it back a little bit.... But tell me what's your set up. I just installed Bekit 1000GHz back onto it.

Yep, I'm using SetCPU with customized profiles. Here's my setup:
Running Bekit's 1Ghz kernel
Charging: 600 Min and Max
Sleep/Standby: 600 Min and 750 Max
Failsafe (>50 degrees C): 250 Min and 550 Max

I'm not using any of the Battery Profiles...

hey Fab, couple questions: i see you have SetCPU running with the 1ghz kernel and its at 27C. what are your profiles in setcpu? like the standby speeds and charging speeds and whatnot. also, are you using ondemand?

i'm thinking of putting this on instead of pete's stock but i was using nextheme before 1.0 came out and had heat issues. phone would get really warm really fast. i'm having that issue with pete's right now. its not insanely scorching hot, but its definitely warmer than it was when it was on v09. i've wiped everything multiple times and still have the same issue so i dunno if nexbeast will fix that.

ok, 27C with live wallpaper? while streaming music in xila live?

just running live wallpaper, sitting in the dock at 550 max im looking at 39C and im only running the 800mhz kernel.

Feels good to know I'm not the only one with the heating issues. I still haven't dipped below 91 Degrees, but I haven't gotten above 105 degrees. I would definitely like to run cooler. That would mean a lot.

Another thing is, my phone does show 98.6 degrees, but it definitely doesn't feel like it. Can SetCPU be reading the temps on my phone wrong or something?

anyone using a lower kernel (like the 600MHz) with helix2?

how is helix2 working?

Helix2 works great for me! But I am running the 1.1Ghz kernel. Not sure how much that affects it.

Edit: FYI - running the following widgets: Beautiful widgets, sportstap (has been FCing on my phone through my last 3 ROMs, not sure why and no worse on Helix2), genie news widget, pure calendar, power settings bar, "3" or cubed music player and Battery Left.

Warning: Do not run the 1x1 battery widget on Helix2, it will FC Helix2. At least it has done this for me consistently and I believe I read someone have the same problem.

has anyone had problems with the 1ghz kernal? My phone wont take it. my phone also wont take the 1.1 either, it just sits on the moto logo. the 800mhz one works awesome. I was just wonder if anyone else has had a problem.

I was fine with the 1Ghz, but my phone wouldn't take the 1.1. Oddly, it's just fine on the 1.2.

Ah yes I remember the Battery Left 1x1 widget Fcing on Helix2. I also remember Helix2 being Laggy on NexTheme R3 that Fab released.

Anyone know how to install the wallpapers that were just put into the OP. It says put'em on the sdcard and choose your wallpaper as normal. It's just not workin for me. It's a .rar file.....do i have to flash it or something?????

.rar is a compressed file. unzip the file and place the wallpapers on your SD.

Ok guys I am a big dumb animal....

I just went to install a differnet kernal, I couldn't get past the M screen, and now I forgot how to boot into the Clockwork Recovery. I haven't had an issue like this in so long I forget what to do, I need to leave work in 10 minutes and need the phone.

hold the X key while booting

simple quesiton . how do change the kernel ? i installed this nexbeast but ijts running at 600mhz . i think i need 800mhz to have the perfect battery life .

do i just copy all of the files in the 800mhz zip file onto their respective places in the phones root ?

with root explorer ?

edit - nvm . got it

I tried it on a number of ROMs including NexTheme R3, it almost worked but it was just too buggy and laggy to keep. This is not the case on Pete's super-rom! This thing can handle almost anything I've thrown at it with ease.

Thanks tom for the reply. However, I can't do anything with this file. I save it to my desktop and I can't unzip it. What am i doing wrong???

Download winrar. It's pretty much the do it all archiving software.

Day 2 with this ROM and still smooth and fast as ever...really impressed with the battery usage....much better than what I was experiencing with CM..

OP has been updated with OTA fix:

OTA Fix
-If you get prompted about an OTA update, flash SPRecovery (if you don't have it), and accept. SPRecovery will block the update, and then you will never be bothered again (can flash back Clockwork after)

This is for people who are getting bad battery life because their phones keep redownloading the ota.

Explain this better please. I assume you mean apply this as an update.zip through Clockwork or SPRecovery then once you get the OTA, flash SP and then apply the OTA so it is then blocked, just making sure that's what you meant.

Yeah, that's exactly what I meant.

That file puts the otacerts.zip back into the ROM, so if your phone gets the OTA, it will not continuously download it (a ~60MB file).

You can then accept the file, recovery will block it, and go on with your life :D

@droidftw - install it with ROM manager 'Install ROM from SD card'
