Root unable to send/receive MMS using third party apps?

After reverting to zv3, flashing the update zv4, I now can not send or receive any MMS using hangouts or 8sms. Stock messaging works fine, but I use group messages, so I really need these third party apps. I've reflashed the virgin mobile apns, but I have no idea how to make it work. Can someone help me?

Flashing the APNs will only fix the issue if you have problems sending MMS on stock messaging. Did you make sure that the MMS settings were correct in 8sms and Hangouts? I no its a dumb question, but I didn't see anywhere that that had been tried

For some reason, APNs in hangouts will not let me create a new one, and deleted one every time I tried to edit it. I put in a new one for 8sms, but it didn't work either. I've downloaded Textra by recommendation of someone else, and it seems to be working fine

I don't use hangouts, and he was saying apns, so I went off the information available.

As you can see, it does say Access point names in hangouts. The only options are MetroPCS, SprintNAI, and Sprint

OK, well, as I said before, if that really is apns, then KitKat won't let you edit them or add new ones with an app.
KitKat does not stop you from editing them in 3rd party apps, look at GoSMS, you can edit those APN setting with no problem. That's how I got MMS before there was the flashable MMS fix. The inability of third party apps to change APNs is only referring to changing the system APNs,

Just go under APNs, hot the menu key tap new

I was referring to system APNs.
