not buying the June 6th date..
I was hoping to have more and to take a picture but they wouldnt allow it. Also the kickstand seemed to be pretty strong. I have been following these posts for quite a while and followed Jackson on the Sprint Community since he seemed to know more then us. I just happened to meet with HTC today thus the update, Otherwise I was as much in the dark as you and hoping Jackson was right. Glad I could help!
That is killing me. They need to replace the phone. It is not that wide and thick. I am sorry it is not.
I work for Sprint and met with the HTC people today and they showed us the EVO. Man what a cool phone.
They said the EVO advocates will get the phones on May 17th and be trained on them May 24th. The EVO will go on sale June 6th.
Phone is not a world phone just to confirm that.
They had the incredible with them also. The Evo is bigger and the screen I thought was clearer also. IT is an awesome phone. Anyone worried about the size shouldn't be. It is very light and very thin I thought. You will not be disappointed.
The phone is 100% finished
2.1 in it
they did say they didn't have any software for the video chat yet though
They mentioned that best buy will probably presell I think for maybe $ 50.00 deposit and possibly Sprint also. They said they are make hundreds of thousands of them though so no one will be without. Sprint stores will get the most though to start.
Bestbuy and radioshack will not get it before Sprint. Everyone will get it the same time they said. But Sprint may have some release parties a few days or a day before in a few select stores. It is truely the best phone Sprint has by far.
one other thing they said that maybe Sprint will not charge for the hotspot to start since Verzion isn't for the Palm Pre and they want to compete with that. They weren't 100% on that though.
I asked them about the black and white cases and all they knew of was a black version. They said if Sprint wants many colors HTC can do but to start only black is the color they knew of.
They said the official release date will be released in a couple of weeks, at a big event which I assume may be the May 12th event you speak of in NY. We will also hear about it in the weekly playbook soon I think.
They said 1gb
It will come with an 8 g sd card
It is an awesome phone and the screen size is really big and clear. Everyone was so excited to see it.

everything data plan is needed
same as hero plan.
no prices were disclosed
sooner than June 6. I can still speculate though right?
I'm sure it will look a lot different on TV.Almost ready...the phone is squished, and the movement of the phone and its splitting / reforming are pretty cheesey to my eyes. Nothing like Motorola's DROID ads, which I think are scary and scary-good.

And how long have i been saying June 6th from? hahaha
IDK about this whole internal storage deal though, i know that the prototype models only have 1gb but i was assured that the final version, SP inlcuded, would ship with atleast 8
there are still some spots open in my email group. drop your address over via pm in my box
Jackson
So the pre-June6 date is pure speculation?
I'm sure it will look a lot different on TV.

This is my situation.
I currently own a T-Mobile G1 and my contract expires Sep '10. Since the EVO is coming out in June, I won't wait until September to get it. I don't want to pay for ETF for T-mobile since I only have three more monthly cycles to pay.
What I was thinking is to lower my monthly T-Mobile bill to the cheapest price. $39.99 for 500 mins or so, no internet.
So I will pay about $45.00 in July, August, September. That's $135.00, I don't know how much if the ETF for T-Mobile, but I think it's like $350 or something.
Anyway, my concern is my phone number.
I want to transfer my T-Mobile phone# to Sprint. But I don't know if I can do it after my contract with T-Mobile expires.
Anyone has any idea on the best approach for me?
Thanks in advanced!
They don't have the correct aspect ratio on the video, but I'll bet it will look great on TV. It's definitely an attention getter. That is killing me. They need to replace the phone. It is not that wide and thick. I am sorry it is not.
