Root [ROM][UNOFFICIAL][4.4.4] DeCAF Cyanogenmod 11, Release 1

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do i install? Just a simple flash with flashify, using twrp, and then flash zv5 radio? I read every post, but don't remember seeing instructions. Have never used cyanogenmod but have heard good things. I'm no dev but I'd like to try the Rom still!

First put the Rom zip on your sd card as well as the gapps ( I used pa gapps)(just search Google for pa gapps). If you have twrp already installed just boot into it. Do a backup . Then do a wipe and then install the zip files.

Thought I would share..."L" theme for cm11

Sorry, i didn't know. That kind of answers my question though.

Back on topic, getting ready to flash this now, coming from stock walk. Any new developments? Led light fixed by chance?

Nothing yet. School and work have kept me busy for the past week. Hope to have some time for this soon.
No worries, it sounds like everything important is working. Btw, before i flash, i wanted to ask, I'm coming from stock walk, and still have cwm installed. I just downloaded twrp, but have my back up in cwm. If something goes wrong after all my flashing, will i have to reflash cwm recovery in order to restore my back up? Since i will be using twrp from now on

I would recommend taking an additional nandroid with twrp and stockwalk before installing cm11 if you plan on sticking with twrp, and maybe move your cwm backup to a safe place on your computer just in case. If your gonna stick with twrp, then your cwm backup will be safe on your pc and your twrp backup will be handy on your SD card.

That or you could fastboot boot twrp.IMG temporarily and flash cm11 and still be able to fall back to cwm backup if needed. Both are valid methods.

So I just flashed, it's looking great, things are working, but its very bare! It only has a few apps preinstalled, and Google play is not one of them. Is this normal for CyanogenMod?

Edit: never mind, I figured out where I went wrong. Forgot the pa gapps step, fixing it now

Having a weird issue.. So I had a cwm recovery, not touch, and before flashing cm11, I used flashify to change my recovery image to twrp. When I tried to make a new backup, before switching to ART, I loaded into cwm touch. Seriously, it was a different cwm recovery than the one I was using before. So do I just reflash twrp and I'm good?

That is odd... You didn't somehow download or flash the wrong thing? I have no other explanation for this, other than it was aliens. :p

Well those gray bastards get me every time I reboot into recovery. I flash recovery with flashify, reboot into recovery, and I have twrp. The next time I go into recovery, it will be cwm touch O.o

Flash the twrp recovery with flashify again. Then shut your phone down. Hold the volume down button and then press and hold power until you see the factory reset screen and let go of volume and power and see if that forces twrp to start back up

I did so and it loaded into twrp, then I rebooted and did it again, and sure enough, it loaded into cwm touch. Apparently I have to reflash twrp each time

Also, tried running ART for about five minutes and then switched back, and the apps are still precompiled and taking up the entire four gigs of internal space. How do I change that back? I only installed a few apps, and now I can't install anything else, even though I now have a 125 gig SD card... >_<

You should probably move everything important to your SD..then wipe your internal storage..
Then flash twrp again..

Ok, so formatting with twrp recovery erased my OS, and I have been having a HELL of a time trying to fix it. I have the cm11 zip on my sd card, but it wont install. This is the error message I get when trying to flash in recovery:

"E: Unable to open zip file
Error flashing zip '/external_SD/My Documents/Root Files/cm-11-20150112-UNOFFICIAL-x5.zip'
Updating partition details....
...done"

I have no OS, can't install through twrp, and my backup is gone from my sd card, as well. Someone please help! I have use of a computer for tonight only

EDIT: Huh... oddly enough, something as simple as deleting the file from my sd card and then dragging it back over again worked. I think I'm good now. Well, this time I'm sticking with dalvik. Everything i tried worked great before i switched runtime. Thank you, everyone who helped get this Rom as far as it has come! It is wonderful, the best Rom I've tried for the LG Volt so far!

What OS do you have access to on a computer, I.e. Windows, Ubuntu, Arch, etc, and what filesystem is your SD card formatted as, I.e. NTFS, ext4, fat32, xfs, etc.?

Windows. And the SD card is new, it doesn't have any partitions

Run chkdsk. Or follow these instructions. I know it says Vista but every windows version is more or less the same.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/check-your-hard-disk-for-errors

The current 32gb SD I'm using now I never checked when I bought it. Ran fine for about 3 months then I started loosing files and having ROM errors and the such. Was a bad sector from day one... A deep filesystem check and 20 hours later, still no problems years later.

Just better safe then sorry. ; )
