coming from LG dare, looking for specific text input method

LG Dare is a full touch screen phone. One of the input methods actually pulled up a regular dial pad, with letters, and it simulated old t9 predictive text. I have been very proficient with that for years and rather it to a full touch screen key board. Has anybody come across a feature or third party application that would allow me to do that? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I thought the same thing coming from a Dare as well. I have found, however, that using Swype, I am much faster and more accurate than with the dial pad, T9-style keyboard. Give that a try.

I am excited about trying swype but the beta seems to be closed as of now. It's cool though? Looks like a bit of a learning curve...

Swype is really neat. Trying to figure out a fluid way to hit the space bar in between words, though. Is there some sort of gesture I can make to signify "space"?

You don't have to hit the space bar. Just pick your finger up and start the next word and it automatically spaces.
