Help How can I make the app tray go away?

tachyon46

Lurker
Recently my Samsung Galaxy S5 screen has a new feature -- there is an app tray that resides on one side of the screen. I have no use for this tray, and the small tab that is used to make it appear interferes with some apps that I use a lot.

I am running Android 4.4.4.

I have tried every thing I can think of in settings, but it will not vanish. Is there an app responsible for this feature?

How can I make it go away?

Hello there and welcome to AF tachyon46!
I've moved your thread into the S5 forum. Others who have your device can for sure help out:)
Perhaps a screenshot posted here may help?

Have not been able to find the new location... looked in galaxy S5 forum.

But I found the answer elsewhere. This feature can be toggled on/off by a long press on the BACK button. :-)

Yeah, sorry about that.
I noticed that you first posted as a non member in the Android Questions forum.
Then you joined and registered and posted again. I moved your thread here.
Funkylogic replied to you there, and I tried to move his post here but it glitched and it disappeared.
Very sorry. :( So sorry:(
Yikes..I'm not having a good day lol :(

Damn you Mike :D
My guess was that it's the Samsung wultiwindow feature that let's you drag two apps onto the same screen.
To remove the tab, on my s3, you pressed and held the hardware back key :thumbsupdroid:
