I've been cheating on my Droid

With the.....GASP.......Incredible! I know I know I am a traitor, but fear not as I have seen the light and have sold it on eBay (for a whopping $685) and I reactivated my Droid today.
 
The Droid would be the perfect device with 512MB RAM.

I've used the Incredible as well, and to me, it was a lateral move. Not worth my $200, let alone the full retail $530.
 
It was worth $475 to me though (off contract). It was a fun fling but the biggest turn off was the lack of a physical keyboard on the same sized screen (just about anyway).

chippy --- nope, a lot of people want it though haha.
 
We forgive you! Yeah, I can't live without my physical keyboard either. It's why I don't think I can move to the EVO. You said you'll be moving to it because a 4.3" virtual keyboard should suffice, but personally, I like being able to type and see the screen at the same time.
 
Yea the EVO is still my next planned device but I'm considering the Shadow/Droid 2/whatever it is. 4.1 or 4.3 screen with a physical keyboard is pure bliss.
 
I'll admit, I fondled an HTC-HD2 at TMobile... that 4.3" screen seems REALLY large, but it was quite awkward trying to navigate from one thing to the next. I'm sure there is a learning curve, but even the virtual keyboard had a weird lag to it.

I remember how intuitive my Droid was right off the bat. Love at first site.
Anyway, gotta admit, the Droid screen seemed tiny after a few minutes with the HD2... but the Droid just feels sooooooooo right...

Yeah, the Shadow looks really, really nice, but I don't know if I can bring myself to upgrade for anything besides a 4G phone. Looks like Motorola is the only one that wants to make Android phones with physical keyboards nowadays. :(

Should be comparable to Tegra 2. Blows the current Tegra out of the water, but what really even uses Tegra (besides Zune HD and Kins)?

It's coming to VZW. Their website shows the Android marketplace and it clearly has a 'Verizon' tab.

Though it is the consensus that the Ally has an 600MHz ARM11 processor = slow.

I would like to be surprised though...

This is officially the FIRST alternative to my beloved Droid that I would at least consider. They flashed the phone so quickly in the video I couldn't get a good look, but I'm sure it's on the web somewhere if not on the Verizon site, assuming Verizon will carry it. I would NOT consider anything that is not on the Verizon network.

thought they said it has a snapdragon in it?
 
My next phone is going to be the droidPad. I'll be making phone calls with a 9.7 inch screen the size of my head. And it's still going to be a slider phone with a Logitech G15m (m is for mobile) keyboard. Yeah, it's a joint venture.
 
The Inc is a solid option for a lot of people. But as Fab said, it's a lateral move for us. Now, if someone was never going to root their Droid, then I'd say go for it.

The girlie's brother-in-law has the HD2. God, is that thing big! When I first saw the Droid in person, I was like, "Whoa, it's huge!" But man, it seems so small in comparison. Personally, I can't go any bigger than the Droid. Not that I'd leave Verizon for the Evo, anyway. I've got a year and a half before I'm eligible for a new phone, and I'm quite content w/ the Droid.

I wrote this in the Droid down thread:

"My g/f has the Incredible, I have a rooted Droid, so I think I can fairly answer this (even though by now, I'm sure you've already gotten your new phone). If you were not a root user and had no intention on rooting, then w/o a doubt, you'd go w/ the Inc. It's an amazing piece of hardware. And that camera is a thing of beauty. Sense UI is nice, and the HTC specific apps and widgets are really sweet. This device is as smooth as silk.

It does not, however, take the title of greatest phone available. That, and this is strictly my opinion (even though based on hard facts) still goes to the Motorola Droid. I'm currently running Pete's BBeast v1.0 and in conjunction w/ a 1.2GHz kernel, this is lightning fast. The screen transitions are on par w/ the Inc (if someone was able to clock that, the Inc might still edge it, but barely). However, my Droid is much faster at rendering web pages than the Inc is. Also, I'd have to say the Droid's screen is better. Go to the Market on both devices. Look at the icons. Huge difference. For everything I love about the HTC apps, there's apps that mimic them. I've got pretty good battery life for a smartphone, and it's much better than the Inc's, but I suspect that will level off soon. My Droid needed a few days and an update before it got there. And I love having the slide-out keyboard.

All in all, these are two great phones, the two best phones available on the best network available. The EVO 4G is gonna bring some new elements that are going to give some new options we haven't had before, but I think it's going to be a lot easier to call it a different option than a better phone. Regardless, Google, you've truly changed the game. "
