Help Swelled battery

Amberdrop

Newbie
A new problem with my S3... It's rooted and the battery is swollen (I ordered a replacement battery as soon as I noticed it). Also, my phone is rooted (which I'm not making any use of but anyway). Except the quick battery drain and stuff, my phone is also lagging and not responding a lot. It will install apps from Google Play Store only after several tries or even restarts (a restart doesn't seem to fix the problem). So I'm just wondering - is this because the battery is completely f**ked up (the phone will freeze at like 50% battery life and turn off, and you can't turn it on if you don't plug it in). Just wondering if this is mainly the battery problem and if my battery replacement gonna solve it, or if it the problem related to the fact that my phone is rooted?

discharging fast and charging whole night are the main causes of the swollen batteries..
Charging overnight does not cause swollen batteries.

Heat does.

If your battery is swollen... Take it out and wait for your new one to arrive. There's a lot of nasty chemicals in them.. Not to mention the fire risk.

Take it out and enjoy a couple of phoneless days
A thousand times this!

I'd have withdrawals man :(
I doubt the battery is causing your other problems though, or the fact that it's rooted.
Have you tried a factory reset?

True that. I had a phone battery swell up the other day and binned it instantly.
