Besides having the "edge" display.... what good is it? I was thinking that the S6 edge would function similar to the Note Edge...

I am going to have to learn about the Edge from YouTube videos. I am going to pre-order asap. Maybe BB will let me order BOTH and decide when they come in.

The Edge certainly looks the more interesting, even if it doesn't bring a lot of extra functionality with it.

I've read different previewers say different things about the handling - some reckon better than the vanilla S6, some less comfortable. Guess it may depend on your hands.

If I do consider one, would be the regular, as the Edge is likely to be horribly expensive. Although I'm far more likely to have a Xiaomi instead.

I like my Note 4. However, watched the launch and thought they were both well designed. I'd go for the Edge just as it's different. Although, I'll be waiting for the Tempered glass companies to get curved screen protectors out there.

I think the specs are great, not too bummed about non-removeable battery or lack of expandable storage. I think Samsung have covered these areas well with their explanation on why.

It is funny looking at feeds on Facebook et al. People are up in arms. And of course the Apple lot are there usual self's. Stolen design yadda yadda.

My only gripe is they are a fingerprint magnet; but then again, slap a screen protector on there that minimises prints.

Can't wait for a look.

The S6E looks nice, but I'd have to pass on either one,not willing to be 1st on his new iteration of the S line, mostly concerned w/battery life.
As I'd stated in a PHANDROID comment, would like to see the HTC ONE M9 & S6E hook-up & bear forth an offspring:
1) Front-facing speaker(s)
2) Dual-curved edges
3) 1080 HD display
4) Capacitive buttons
5) SD Card

I'm on the fence. I guess I'm having a hard time deciding what the difference will be. Apart from the obvious. Are there any drawbacks to getting the edge over the regular version?

If by the obvious you mean higher price and more vulnerable when dropped, then otherwise I doubt it. It's always possible that there will be some strange hardware or software bug on one model but not the other, but assuming there is not then those 2 are the only drawbacks I would expect.

Just played with both at the TMo store and Best Buy. It's Edge all the way for me. Specs wise, it's negligibly smaller and lighter. In my hand, it felt noticeably smaller and lighter. When the TMo rep first handed it to me, I thought it was a hollow mock up. It made my S5 feel like a brick. The sloped sides made holding it felt very secure, since it allowed my fingers to wrap around the one side and my thumb rests on the edge of the other side.

I do think the Edge looks cool, but the price if kind of a big factor against it. I also noticed that Otterbox doesn't seem to be making a case for it which is the one I was planning on getting. At the moment I intend to get the regular one but I'm feeling indecisive.

I was all set to order the Edge too.... but a Facebook comment by Lifeproof and OtterBox made up my mind. No waterproof case = no Edge for me.

The lack of micro SD makes me the most sad, as Verizon + Samsung are gonna go to town with the bloatware. If the Note 5 came out within the next month, I'd seriously consider that, but I think I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get the gold Edge.
